Nah it's a conspiracy this time.
Lol once more there's nothing wrong with those quotes. It's kinda pathetic that you think you've had a "gotcha" moment but the reality that she's talked about what games she's referencing in the exact same knterview and they're all critically acclaimed.
As I said stop crying about how Stadia doesn't appeal to you and then when someone says "maybe Stadia should try to reach a bigger audience by focussing on different games" you...
You think momentum is going to drop in the year Pokémon is releasing? When are people going to admit that the Switch isn't a flop and that their predictions of its failure is like listening to pastors predicting the end of the world.
OB1Biker you can't be as dense as you're pretending to be right now. Shall I give you the paragraph before that statement in the article?
"Meanwhile, indie developers have been studiously making experiences that reject, subvert and transcend those traditional values; Hennig mentioned Florence, What Remains of Edith Finch?, and Return of the Obra Dinn as examples of relatively low-budget games that, ironically, may have broader appeal than some of the industry...
"And rather than just saying we'll port over the games we're already making - well, then we're only pointing it a gamer audience. We're not expanding our audience at all. We should be figuring out, without abandoning the kind of games we make now, how to widen the spectrum. Widen the spectrum so that a lot of the games being made by indie developers that actually would have huge appeal to this audience, but are undiscoverable - they should be moving onto this platform.&qu...
@allmightyfox
"explain to me how a 15 plus button controller (ps4, xbox, Pretendo) is intimidating to a non-gamer has anything to do with creativity or game development by people working in the game industry ????"
Where did I say it did? How about you read my comment instead of memorizing old memes.
Could you give some quotes of hers that display this bitterness you're talking about?
I actually disagree because what she said about streaming sounds completely logical.
"[The average game] requires a big expensive box, a 15 button-plus controller that is incredibly intimidating to a non-gamer, it involves content that is intimidating in its own right, all of these hurdles that have kept this audience out. I mean, they're playing games, they're on their smartphones and iPads, they're playing table-top games, but there's been no way for ...
"Terrible analogy. Aim bot ruins others player's experience and is unavoidable."
Nope. I bought the game and it's unacceptable to ban me from something I paid to access even if I break ToS. If you disagree then you're infringing upon my rights.
"Trying to compare a toxic player to a player straight up cheating is the dumbest argument i've heard all day. The fact you even have 3 likes shows a severe lack of critical thought.&...
"He was playing an online game, he harassed people online, therefore ban him from accessing online play."
But he paid to access online with a PS+ subscription so you're now saying it's okay to take away things people paid for. You not see how you're perpetuating a double standard?
So if I use something like an aimbot in an online game Sony cant ban me from playing right? I bought the game and Sony cant do anything because that would be taking my rights away...
Quit crying about downvotes too. It's kinda pathetic.
@SilverDemon
"He got ban for a month. But what if the ban was for ever?"
He didn't get banned forever and that's a fallacy.
"And sony shouldn't have ANY right to tell me i cant play the games i rightfully bought for a month,weak or even an hour. Not using the service? Fine, it's their service. But MY games"
Im afraid you don't own those games. You've purchased a license to p...
Aaah, the 'It'll be good one day' argument. Doesn't make it good now though does it? Also when is the EGS sales going to start? I see a few titles currently on sale on Steam for 20%-75% off so I'm waiting for these EGS savings to pass over to the consumer y'know?
He didn't lose his game though. He was just denied access to the license for a month. I actually think this punishment for what the guy has admitted to is absolutely fine.
@rainslacker
10% is not a drop in the bucket. Those games definitely didn't sell enough on PC to generate that sort of income. If they did then it means we've underestimated their success on consoles by a huge margin.
It's amazing how people are also disagreeing that subscriptions and 3rd party licensing is where the money is coming from.
@Felix
If you believe a sizeable chunk of thst revenue is from PC gamers then you basically believe Sate of Decay 2, Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Theives sold incredibly well on PC. Do you believe that?
Or is it maybe easier to believe that Minecraft, XBLG, GamePass and 3rd party game sales on consoles is where the money's coming from...
Sorry to burst the bubble but MS is definitely not seeing much money from PC games sales. The vast majority of that revenue is definitely through console gamers.
I think that disconnect is amplified when it comes to PC gaming.
It's one good feature is the free game every two weeks but the vast majority of them are likely already in someone's Steam library because they've been on sale at 75% off at one point over the years. I truthfully don't know how that 1 free game now and then is the shake up PC gaming needs but I guess journalists gotta get them clicks.
Use it only when feeling down. I can imagine playing with that controller during those moments could have a real powerful effect.
That image is brilliant.
One of the funny things is that everyone claims that EGS is going to result in us saving money but Valve already saved us a ton with their brilliant Steam Sales and CD key sites contribute to those savings. What can EGS do on top of that? It's not like the smaller cut they take has resulted in lower prices because the EGS versions cost the exact same as the console version which definitely take more than 12%.
