Clockworkrazor you always raise good points. I agree with you but feel there is another side to this coin.

I myself, heading on, came in to gaming on PC with Amiga 500 and consoles with NES. The years and decades that followed undoubtedly gave me and many others some special single player experiences. Some games are just better as single player.

The thing I find is, a great deal of games also on offer from this era and right up to PS2 had local 2/4 player opt...

Nice Blog Clockworkrazor, long live the dreamcast. Ill never part with it. It's an amazing system, sadly there were alot of contributors that saw its early demise. I have attachment I use that allows 480p through VGA. I highly recommend it if you still use the DC.

Sadly there hasn't been a console that releases all the arcade greats since. Heck I'm still waiting for House of the Dead 4 and Daytona 2! And some more Shenmue !!

When I think of all...

I agree with everything you say. However, I'd be genuinely impressed if they could make a coop and eerie like the original.
Imagine if they made it like RE2 where there are 2 characters with two intertwining story lines. That wouldn't gimp single player and it would also offer a unique form of coop.
And yes, no one wants an AI douche bag following you around everywhere if you have to play single player ..err RE5

Exactly!

Personally I loved them all. The first is and always be my favorite. Sadly they got less eerie as they moved on.

I played through coop with a buddy in number 5 and must admit we did have alot of fun - I liked the character design of the bosses. But I totally understand how sh#t it would be playing it single player..eww.

Japan is most definitely an important market. Japan is the 10th most populated country in the world. More importantly it's the 2nd most populated 1st world country. Hence, people in Japan can actually afford to buy one.
I say Microsoft should hang in there.

Since I'm living in Japan I can add a few things I'v noticed.

1) Japanese don't like FPS a quarter as much as the west. It's become a stigma about western gaming culture. Japan responds well to games with RPG components.

2) Usually the older people 18+ own PS3's anyway.

3) Sadly online gaming isn't embraced and I'd like this to change, hence the lack of online in many recent Japanese games.

4) Many...

Golden Axe was botched because they made it 1 player! WTF were they thinking making an 2 player arcade classic 1 player!?
To be honest there are a ton of Sega games I'd love to see sequels and HD re-releases of.

Virtual cop 1 & 2 online, House of the Dead 4 online,
Daytona 2, Die Hard Arcade the list goes on. I dont get why these aren't already available for download and online play!?

Then for god sake bring out the Shenmues!

All of his requests are pretty fair though. I expect Microsoft will sit up and note this more than Sony.

@ IAmCornHolio - What you're saying is rubish!

Listen to song on MP3 then a CD. Then listen that song on then Vinyl. A brand new vinyl trumps all with the highest band of frequency. If you can't hear the difference I feel bad for you. MP3 strips away frequency peaks and troughs to save space. Even CDs do from an analogue vinyl.

I'm probably a bit older than you but I'm a producer and a DJ, I can tell the difference. If I'm playing to a cro...

Right you are. Iv had a PS3 since day 1 and use to anticipate every update
hoping it would be included.
Sony have announced it's not coming! Accept it now. It's
included in Vita already so its pretty obvious it's not coming to
PS3 without any big sacrifices.
No matter how much love you give your PS3 it's just not happening.
Move On, or work around it.

@ Solid_Snake - That's rubish sport! Speak for yourself so people don't always attack your credibility.

I had a PS3 before I bought a 360. I'm not a massive FPS fan but I am a fan of violent zombie games - so I pretty much purchased the 360 for that game and still play it on a regular basis.

Good. Level 50 was reached too quick. I hit level 50 with only 25% of the campaign done. The campaign is massive..I have around 500 hours so far (online included) and still playing it now ( around 70%) but get sick of too many R1 races.
Only prob with 1 player campaign is the CPU always ride stock cars in every class.
Shame no rain for forza 3.

I have a all consoles and Party chat is one of the main reasons I use the 360 the most. I happen to like my PS3 as a piece of hardware the most but the system unfortunately doesn't encourage online gaming like 360 does.
All my friends come online around the same time most nights, jump into a party and work out what game we're going to play.
If I'm playing single player story game (which is rare) I don't use it. But I'm at the point where I dont enjoy sing...

There is plenty of point bringing out left 4 dead. Most poeple who bought the game are still playing it!

True. I buy alot of xbox live games but 80% of them are absolute rubbish.

True Nitro but this time round XBox Live is the cash cow. Microsoft are going to do anything to keep that revenue rolling in.

@Buenoblue - Don't know what your on. I play all my systems on a HD projector too and they all look good. A good game is a good game no matter what gen. I still go back and play 90's arcade games on Mame blown up on projector. My point being graphics is 1 of many factors that make a good game. Did you realise a game can look good from the way it's artistically stylized which has very little to do with what your talking about ? Do you suddenly stop watching your favorite 90's m...

Yes that's true. For every extra disc devs have to pay more royalties. Devs hate it. Microsoft also charge devs for DLC making it very hard for them to make it free for users. Like it or not that's how Microsoft roll.
