@ Jay 520

It isn't that much different from Steam.. to me the biggest difference is Microsoft have successfully brainwashed most its XBOX users into believing that it's OK to pay for online gaming while they get advertisements shoveled down their throats - as if their getting some awesome service. The only thing worth anything to me is the party chat.

Before yo think of throwing a stone I have PC, MAC and all the consoles - therefore this rant isnt co...

@WhiteLighting. Being a little over dramatic on what was written in the article don't we think ?

He hasn't jumped to any conclusions. What NEWMONDAY said is more or less right.

Do you think there would be as much motivation or innovation in F1 technology if there were only 1 team ??

Right on.

But don't forget that sometimes these companies have to "work together" as a result of pantents too.

I would love a co-oped San Andreas HD

Irrespective, im interested to see if any good games come of this console

I couldn't agree with you more.
Its a Brilliant point.

I think part of the problem is games take too long to develop for these days and its stifling creativity. In the 16/32 bit days, small teams could bring out great stuff and often, there was so much variety in genres. And yeah.. aiming for AAA $60-$100 doesn't guarantee success.

More so on a personal note. My friends and I are from the arcade machine era. We love coop gaming and are all wai...

You right, but it means microsoft can make more $$$ from live subscriptions as the 360 is phased out for their next console.

Seeing them move next to each other its quite clear than Uncharted is much more advanced in every respect. Iv own and have played through all the GOW and UC so far.

Gears looks great but its simply a tarted up tired Unreal engine like every other 360 game. UC is in a totally different realm of amazing. Its jaw dropping gorgeous seeing it running in the flesh.

If you've owned and played both games on a HD display this sort of comparison is a no brainer. I...

What a steaming pile of @$!# this article is...if it could be called that is. Its more of an opinion piece full of terribly inaccurate observations.

It looks like I'm not the first poster here to notice that too.

I bought the PS3 day one.. Sadly Iv been waiting for Cross Game chat since then and some online jap beat em ups (Yakuza coop anyone?). Yes PS3 has had the best exclusives by far but I dont like to play many solo games these days.

If a ps4 comes out ill still get it but personally I havent used my ps3 for as much id hoped for this gen. I think its also got a fair bit of life left in it too.

As mentioned above. It is like comparing apples and oranges.

I have a 360, PS3 and Quad Core PC that will actually pull off similar graphics on these screen shots here.

PC's usually visually outshine consoles towards the end of their life cycles anyway.. so whats really new here?

Yet I still much prefer the nature of jumping into party chat on my 360 then decided on a game to play with my mates. IMO there is usually more fun for me to...

I definitely agree with you with regards to the next Sony console installment being an easy job for them. The Cell is easy and cheap now to double, quad, oct up up on power.
As much as I want...I dont see a release next year..Im almost sure we would have heard more from developers and I doubt Sony will launch without any games again.

Unless, somehow the PS4 has a technology that allows devs to produce a ps3/ps4 game simultaneously without complications. Eg. A simple ...

@Raputre72:

I really was hoping you were being sarcastic.
Wow, what an ignorant comment.

You are correct in saying this. At the end of the day, games are basically made on PC's to begin with - kinda end of story really. But being practical, many PC gamers don't have access to that sort of grunt.
This is exactly the same for a windowed amount of time when a new console is released.

- In this situation:
Dev's have alot more incentive to optimise code for such a platform whereby they know exactly what sort of resources are available. Duri...

I couldn't agree with you more. To me it feels as if this gen's innovation hasn't deviated from last gens recipes at all. Voice chat while gaming online has been a nice feature (technically not this gen)and a bump in graphics is always welcome.

But, I'd like to see developers take a few more risks with gaming. Maybe even take a few steps back and take some notes from the 16 bit days where a simple beat em up was alot of fun and somehow allowed alot of replay v...

It's not that they hate XBox, it's more so that they don't dig 1st person war shooters as much as the west. I live here, with my Xbox and Ps3 and always ask my students why. Usually they don't know what it is or if they do.. Don't like the style of game available here.
There you go

@trenso1 - Thankyou for illustrating my point again. Sadly your too dull to realise it. Learn to read and comprehend before you respond. Then when you write try doing it with out grammar errors.

I'd agree with you there. Smaller maps is annoying. Something thats always bothered me though is the consoles have never had 64 players on a map. PC's had it since the original Battlefield 1942..hence the game actually felt like a battlefield
