The idea of this is open-ness. They are deliberately moving away from closed systems and locked down OS's. The fact you can mod it anyway you want, use any controller you want is a good thing. The industry needs more of this.
I'm pretty sure I said the same thing moving from D-pads to analogue sticks. Can't knock it till you've tried it.
Well CPU's have a big affect on minimum frame rates. I'm just putting that out there since it seems many of you might not know.
Good question. Maybe something to do with the comparatively weak CPU. BF4 is quite CPU heavy.
Yup. Free online and cheap as games. I think I have over 100 games by now (half multiplatform), all for the price of around 2 console games. Winning!!!
I have to laugh when people say PC gaming is expensive. I don't mind paying for cutting edge hardware when I can save so much money on software.
Yes steam is awesome. Just picked up Payday 2, Farcry 3, and Contagion for chump change.
No time to play all these games anymore.
BTW, Payday 2 is soooo underrated.
The number of steam users dwarf the consoles - Michael Pachter has the numbers which I can't remember but it's significant. Yet the console online users are generally considered more active.
Too ignorant to realize how many games came from Mods. L4D and Counter strike come to mind, and that's only the beginning.

There are game breaking mods (cheats) which I personally don't like. Then there's enhancement mods like the ones for the elder scrolls series. Sounds like you did a game breaking mod. Anyway, you've got your facts totally wrong.

I buy all my multiplatform games and PC exclusives on PC. The fact is I've been spoilt by my PC always churning out 60fps at 1080p and I'm not keen going backwards. Both these console should have been able to achieve this standard..sadly they dont. But regardless, once a decent exclusive comes out for PS4 or/and XOne then ill get it and the console. Why not?! But I'm still waiting to be impressed.
Again Killzone is far too overrated. It looks pretty but the physics engine and AI are stuck in last gen. Its a pretty linear shooter with no destruction, all objects are static! The AI doesn't even notice you're shooting at them. Plus the campaign missions only run at 30fps.
Killzone isn't the best PS4 game to be putting on a pedestal you realize..

Sorry, but a little bit of an exaggeration there. Low-Mid spec PC's might be struggling to run 1080p 60fps Ultra.
Have a look at the monster Physics score. That 4930x is what really pushed the overall score up. The GPU score isn't much higher if any than a normal 780ti
I always hoped minecraft would evolve into the type of game your talking about. Starting off with sticks and stones then evolving to space travel and colonizing other planets.
