2006 xbox so it was showing its age, and I wanted to get ahead of it before something went wrong. 20gb hdd that was running out of space
after all was said and done with a trade-in, I got my slim for 142.
and I gotta say, the shiny/chrome fat ps3 and the shiny/chrome slim look great together.
My old 360 is from 2006 so it was 4 years old and just kind of showing it's age.

after all was said and done I payed 142 for the 360 Slim.
with every 360 they've gotten more and more reliable, plus with it's age I was worried about RROD. The quiet factor was also a major decision.

I'm all about facts. Don't get me wrong I don't mind people having their own opinions or free will. What I do hate is when someone says something but can't back it up.

I read an article not 5 minutes ago say that the new port on the 360 slim allows for project natal to be plugged to the slim directly. Kinect will connect to the old 360s....it just requires an extra extention cord for power.
When I boot my slim 360 up it shows the no signal blue screen for a few seconds tht appear on my HDMI selection, then it loads the dashboard.
Someone said it was due to my tv....but my old 360 had the old bootup screen and worked fine with the tv...mind you it was using HD a/v cables instead of HDMI....
could the blue screen/no boot up screen be due to the new HDMI cable?
or am I still missing something because I still don't get a b...
I did this today......360, controller, 20gb HDD, N wireless router.....when all was said and done I payed 142 for the new system.
o ok, yeah I have an element lcd, it gives me the blue no signal screen and jumps straight to dash instead of having a boot screen.
but......this didn't occure with the original 360, it had a bootscreen.
so I turned my console on again and still no bootscreen. It shows the blue screen from when you select your HD connection and the xbox is off. then if you turn it on it stays blue for a few more seconds then goes straight to the dashboard. no transition/boot screen shows.
I found one today at gamestop....after all trade ins it was 142.....but yeah I noticed when it boots up it just blue screens until getting to the dashboard, doesn't really have a boot up screen.
When looking at the ps3 items the controller, eye toy, and navigation thing.....it's about 150 as well. In my eyes having both ms and sony items at 150 means it'll be all about content instead of price point....at least initially.
kinect will work with old 360s....so for most it's still only 150.
good thing I preordered when I did. I heard this morning they suspended preorders and you'll now have to wait 3 weeks.

First you MUST pre-order to play on the 21st, period.
Secondly if you're a BFBC2 VIP AND pre-order you can play on the 17th.
We've had the same issue in the u.s., sadly when ordering from a store you are kind of at mercy to them, they get info as they see it.
I finally just ordered straight from EA.com store....they immediately emailed me my beta info.
So if you want to GUARANTEE 17th beta access I'd order...

Im trying to figure out how i'd transfer data prior to trading in.....

I would much prefer best buy have some sort of trade in so I can use my reward zone program...
also what would I do about transfering my data, if I trade it in how am I supposed to transfer my data?
if I had to guess, Id say that the 299 bundle would be kinect then the 360 slim with maybe a 20gb HDD.....has anyone also thought that maybe it won't include wifi.....for one that would give a reason to keep the wifi adaptor on the moarket, thus adding to market potential for MS?
otherwise with the phasing out of the old 360s you'd also have to phase out the adapters which just adds to things being taking away from MS in terms of what they can make money off of.
