I live in Japan and tried to buy Ghost of Tsushima online today but it's sold out everywhere....now I know why.
Seems like it will just create more confusion for casual players 😅
The will have One X, Series X, Series S.....regular Xbox One? Smart delivery.....does it apply to every game? When will they stop supporting current hardware?
I hope this game sells well.
Sucker Punch spent years developing it, it is a new IP and reviews have been mostly very positive.
Kudos to Sony as well for supporting this project.

Uncharted
The Last of Us
Spiderman
They have Halo, Gears and Forza (that successfully countered Gran Turismo).
Hellblade 2 might be great but also pretty niche....
It will be interesting to see how billions buying studios actually turn in successful new IP.
He is gonna start promising that the game will run better on an Xbox Series X 🙄
That's all they do....promise life changing tech to hide their lack of exclusives. Is anyone really comparing Crackdown 3 to the Last of Us 2, God Of War, FFVII Remake, Spiderman, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc?
And they hyped if like the best thing ever with the power of the cloud 🙄
Unless you love Halo, Forza or Gears of War nothing will change with Series X (even after buying a ton of studios).

It honestly makes me wonder how many people play PS3/Xbox 360 games on their current gen devices.
Personally I don't care about backwards compatibility (it doesn't hurt, but hardly a selling point for me).
It will be interesting to see how many people buy a One X to play Crackdown 3 or Sea of Thieves.
More specs......we need games.
I will never understand that logic. My friend bought a PS4 last year and know she is mad they announce the PS5 because "she just bought the 4".
I always buy at launch and enjoy the system for a full 6-7 years. If you trust the platform, pull the trigger.
Sony is yet to let us down with home consoles (even the PS3 recovered and did really well).

I absolutely LOVE R&C.
Not everyone's situation is the same.
Plenty of countries still have crappy internet connections (and data caps).
In Japan (where I live), most people still buy physical copies because:
- They want it as memory /collectors item.
- They can easily resell the game after playing it (in the case of Nintendo's games, you can often get around 60% of the original price when you trade in).
I think $499 is the most likely scenario....but they would KILL it if it sells for $450. $399 ain't happening.
Maybe a bundled game if it ends up being $499? 🤔
This is why you should bother about killer exclusives and not checkerboard vs native 4K 🙄
It will be interesting to see how Microsoft will try to market their extra teraflops 🤷♂️
They definitely need more franchises but it's a risk I'm not sure they are willing to take.
For every Horizon Zero: Dawn there's 5 or 10 new IPs that failed to find an audience (games like Anthem, Sunset Overdrive, Titanfall).
I can see them trying to buy relatively minor IPs to make them exclusive like Hellblade.

Sony seems to be following a similar model to the PS4 though.....I'm sure they will release remasters of Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Zero Dawn,etc but I expect plenty of PS5 exclusives in the first 12 months.
They've never cared about making money in the gaming market...they want to keep it for branding. That's how they can give their games with Game Pass.
Nintendo and Sony actually need to do well in gaming to survive....Microsoft doesn't.
