Keyboard and mouse - straight way to get NCS before you're 30.
Mandatory camera watching all the time is worse for me than any DRM and Internet requirements.
Now, Kinect is bundled. How many games we saw at E3 had camera support to justify that you have to pay for it. I know there was a tech demo but what else?
Don't compare yourself to competition, Sony. This is child's play.
"they were almost facing bankruptcy but Sony had faith in them and kept funding them."
Why Sony, in one sentence.
That gate exploding for no reason always gets me.
There are solutions but HDCP descramblers and HDMI converters aren't particularly cheap.
Good to see Microsoft trying to compete. PS+ will get even better thanks to that. Well, if you can go any better than offering games like Battlefield 3.
Let him dream.
It's an optional update so doesn't prevent from going online.
@fordgtguy Read the last sentence you're quoting, then "The two challenges - latency and bandwidth" from the same article. Digital Foundry are very good in their field, they just don't write articles for people like you.
Stop spreading FUD. Anybody with just a bit of technical knowledge is laughing at you.
@decrypt: You're picking your facts as they suit you. PS+ isn't only a multiplayer fee. It's also a great value of games that are coming with it, hundreds or even near a thousand-worth a year across three Sony platforms. If I'd count all PS+ games I got and tried to match it with 50 euros spent on Steam, there would be no comparison at all.
Also, why is everybody assuming PS3s will stop functioning the day PS4 comes out so "nobody can play their old game...
My phone does cloud computing, why can't an advanced console?
They actually did it today.
"My bed is ready"? ;)
" the sooner you buy a PlayStation 4, the more free content you get"
I think it'll be the other way round. Every PS+ user will start getting PS4 games after launch. This will make people want the console, obviously. This is how I bought Vita because I had 20+ games collected. A great way to attract customers.
Phil Spencer, you're a liar. Your DRM is not for software control but for data mining and spying on people with your ever-on camera.
After you install and activate a game with a code, there's no need to check it online again. Never, ever, again, until you want to install another game. Just like PC games work. The only reason to need a connection is to COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA.
The look on this guy's face, so dishonest. Why did they change their tactics so much? Because they have hardware issues with chip yields and can't produce so many boxes. Expect artificially created demand stories, people queuing for boxes which will be very limited in supply. Lots of marketing and PR bullcrap will follow.
I hope you can remove it if you don't like. Every time my PS3 boots up and I see that terrible Singstar screen, I want to punch the person in Sony marketing who invented this.
