Actually you are wrong. PC doesn't have any centered infrastructure for gaming. Even Steam is just an option. And speaking of Steam, I was completely astonished not so long ago when I wanted to send a text message (just TEXT) to somebody who was offline and I couldn't! I'm not sure about Origin. Using Teamspeak or similar isn't part of the gaming experience, it's just another program you use.
In BF you can chat with the whole team, that is 12 people (on consoles). Works fine but creates another problem - so many people speaking at the same time usually means chaos. If you're be able to chat with anybody, people will cheat, switching teams and giving away your position in the game. Of course they can do it right now with, say, Skype but if the feature is there, there will be more abusers.
I don't say cross chat is bad but there are two sides of the coin. I&...
I thought it was this ;) http://youtu.be/0rJDn0jRnUQ
According to the author "Iphone" is 5 years old while "Playstation 4" is something new. So he's writing about a brand, then suddenly he's not writing about a brand but a specific model. This comparison is useless and there's no logic in the criteria. It's really surprising as the author's bio suggests he's definitely not an idiot. Therefore I assume he did it on purpose, which is even sadder.
Everybody can check the facts for themse...
Great writing and insight, very informative and well-thought. I'll recommend it to my friends.
A moment of silence for Valve missing from the list :( The rest is incredible.
I bought the PS3 Killzone 2 bundle. I think the history will repeat. Oh Sony, please make custom cases!
This will be interesting. And probably even more enjoyable than white ponchos and a circus.
Maybe you PC crowd should start buying games when they're released and not wait for Steam sales. That could convince devs more than your rants on the Internet. You know, they would invest money in PC versions if they knew it'd come back in profit. The truth is YOU are holding back. People just want to earn a living, that's why they release games for POPULAR platforms.
No, because my PS3 stays where it is and I'll need a new one. But I have a spare or I'll buy another for 5 euros, who cares?
I've just bought a new printer which doesn't need any connection at all as it's WiFi enabled. One of the reasons I bought it, actually. Guess what - the seller included a USB cable and charged me for it. It was less than 1 euro but made me laugh. I think some people have a cable fetish.
Exactly my first thought when I saw DS4! My Select button on all joypads is worn out because of it. I guess we'll be using the touchpad for that. Also think of how easy it will be to implement the Commo Rose with the touchpad.
And think of all those Battlefield moments we'll see people share thanks to the new functionality. Almost as exciting as the amount of RAM PS4 got and what consequence it will have for Battlefield games.
I think the answer is very simple: it's not American.
I'd go with a monkey in a pointy hat which plays a banjo while riding a monobike on a high rope.
No clue about what? It's 8 GB of shared pool memory available both to CPU and GPU (minus the system, so probably 7.5 GiB). You can push data from and to it with both. It's basically the same idea that X360 has now (plus 10 MiB EDRAM). Some PCs use the same concept for built-in GPUs but it's DDR3, not GDDR5 and 8 GiB of it is simply amazing.
Also remember that tech demos we saw were most likely built for 4 GiB. There isn't even a single mass-production graphics...
Somebody mentioned Steam. I was looking through the list of publishers involved in PS4 development and thinking who was missing. I thought of one big dev which is left out and it's Valve. I'm afraid their Steambox project gets serious enough for them to make HL and Portal exclusive for it. This doesn't make me happy.
Any ideas who else's missing?
To me, it doesn't actually matter if the price is 300 or 400 euros. Not that I have too much money to spend but hey, I'm buying a console which will give me thousands of hours of entertainment for several years as gaming is my primary hobby. 50 or even 100 euro difference isn't that important. Better be it more RAM and quality components than 1 or 2 games at launch I'll have to wait a bit because I can't spend that much.
Witcher 3 just got announced for PS4 http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
Imagine playing Watch_Dogs with this device on top of your TV. Shivers.
Nice spot. There's also Bohemia Interactive logo underneath. Which can mean only one thing that starts and ends with A.
There's Rockstar too but I think it's been obvious.
And there's Yager, 505 and lots of small studios. Well, I wonder who ISN'T on this picture.
Could you tell me how? Because my Steam interface says otherwise, so does the official forum http://forums.steampowered.... I can message online people but not offline. Pretty useless for me then.
For me, if something is not integrated, it's not there. So Steam has no chat support, even as text.
