I guess I'm as much annoyed by it as you by having to pay $4 a month for XBL.

I played Fallout and they all had PimpBoys 3000. I don't know which manufacturer it was, though.
I don't live in the US so can't answer this question but I can say why Playstation is the leading brand in Europe.
1. Recognition - in many EU countries console = Playstation. Some people don't even know that Xbox exists. The awareness has risen a bit with Kinect but still it's Playstation that we see ads for. Yes, even COD is advertised with PS3 logo. I live in a country where most people play PC but when I saw PS1, I wanted it immediately. Then I had PS2, PS...
Of course every newer model is a downgrade in quality because cheaper components are used to make it more affordable and profitable. Unfortunately there are countries where people prefer lower price over quality. Unfortunately some of those countries are big gaming markets, like the US. When I read opinions like "I don't care if it breaks if they replace it for free", I strongly disagree. I hope Sony doesn't go too far with that next gen. I'd rather have a choice to pay ...
This is a list for people who play the sales game, not real gamers. I think it tells much about the quality of EDGE staff.
I love this myth that open world games must have worse graphics. It pops up in every fanboy rant and just shows how technically illiterate most fanboys are.
Don't expect teenagers with no clue about technology to indulge in a discussion about console specs. They need a clear message: X SUCKZ, Y OUTSELLZ, Z FAILZ.
Maybe if you named it "DURANGO HAS DOUBLE THE MEMORY AND CORES THAN ORBIS. IS SONY DOOMED?", you'd catch it. Other than that, you're not getting much support. But I thank you very much, I don't regularly go to NeoGAF (which I should as people there at least know what they're talking about) a...
I actually like the second video when they play BF3 in 320x200... where Battlefield and Minecraft combine! :D
Yeah, especially when they called a BIOS screen 'BSOD'.
I bought it for 30 cents on sale even though I don't play it, out of curiosity. PC Minecraft is still 20 euros.
The new PS3 store is so slow and messy that I much prefer to browse through the web version now. It's been much improved in terms of speed lately. However, the thing I'm missing is to purchase something and queue it for download. You still have to go to the download list in PS3 and activate. At least PS+ should do it automatically.
Never heard of Philips Ambilight?
Sony needs to continue their current policy of:
- offering a wide library of games that cater to all tastes
- support all major markets, not only US/UK
- keep substantial networking features free, expand PS+
- release a constant flow of exclusive titles
- keep the quality of their hardware
Sony needs to improve on:
- support of third party publishers (easier and better devtools)
- advertising in social media
- so...
I went to youtube to see the conference in better resolution and it's not a BSOD screen but a BIOS utility menu. You can read it on the top of it.
This means PSL made it up for hits or they don't know what they're talking about.
So the guy who wrote this is blaming Sony for faulty Microsoft operating system. Well... To remind you, Microsoft has a long history of fuckups at presentations, the most recent being a Surface failing miserably during its reveal.
Those are probably the devbox specs. I heard something similar firsthand from a friend working in gamedev. He also said one core will be used exclusively for the system.
Processor/Socket: Dual-core 64-bit 3400e
Speed: 1.8GHz
Good luck playing any decent games with it.
Xi3's been trying to raise money on Kickstarter for that project but failed. It's a dual/quad core CPU and integrated GPU so not much performance. Of course you can't upgrade GPU. It will probably play recent games in 720p on mid-details. The price is $999 for the current model. You can get a very powerful PC for that kind of money and play 1080p with all details. Surely Valve will reduce the price somehow but how far?
IGN writes: "Oh, dear."
So professional...
