They said.
Who would have thought Sony would buy the developer that put Xbox on the map?
Now Microsoft has Crash; it's like they swapped children.
Interesting times.
This is a good buy for Sony; they've long needed an expert shooter developer.
Bungie are great in this regard.
Looking forward to the nuance.
If people aren't tired of Call of Duty, why would they be tired of this? Good formulas tend to last while our affinity for them eventually dies.
Dying Light is unique in its mix of parkour, perspective, and combat. Dropkicking, environmental takedowns, creative weapons, traversal, zombie behavior change at night; it's all quite fun and this is only the second game in the series.
Now it's getting expanded upon and is personally my most anticipa...
Very good first effort. Got the plat and I'm looking forward to their next game.
@Seph
I'm excited about the entire industry - not the fact that Microsoft acquired Activision/Blizzard.
However, I do believe that Microsoft could do good things for these franchises as they certainly have the financial wherewithal and they also have, or could have, the talent.
It's all up to them.
Exactly.
It would be framed as answer to the Bethesda/Zenimax acquisition and it would be a 'fire with fire' sorta narrative.
Jubilant.
Microsoft isn't even competing with Sony; they are but not really. They're competing with Apple, Amazon, Google, Facebook, etc.
Microsoft just scooped up so many franchises and all their infrastructure along with it.
I'm honestly excited for the future of gaming as a whole and I think Microsoft will be a boon to these developers and franchises.
I'm thinking this will push Sony to make even more incredible first-party stuff.
They could really use a groundbreaker of a game at this point, and if anyone can create something groundbreaking, it's Sony's studios.
There's plenty of ways Sony can respond, and thinking about it has me a bit excited to be honest.
It's still sinking in that Microsoft own Infinity Ward.
What a turn and I hope for the better.
Now all of the criticism for games will be directed at squarely at Microsoft.
This is so weird.
@Earl
The moon belongs to everyone; the best things in life are free.
Microsoft ain't playing.
File a patent for a driftless controller while you're at it.
The top-down view theme music was stuck in my head all day as a kid.
I'm not sure if I ever completed a no-damage seaweed run.
EA and Activision are really letting themselves go; the two giants just don't seem to care anymore. So concerned with making a quick buck that they're forgetting to make a quality base product.
Slow down, make a good, complete game that people actually want to play, and then you can start worrying about selling weapon and operator skins.
These companies have everything backwards.
Lol.
@Rambo
Maybe it was a biker pun.
This, this, this. This is all they have to do to please people, myself included.
