I do appreciate your elaborating on cut content from the article. =)

I understand it's a matter of personal taste but you certainly can't dismiss conflicting opinions and critique with a "FF7 noobs" argument. Saying the story isn't told very well and is a cheap trip of plot convenience is a valid criticism. Saying the characters are all underdeveloped is a valid criticism. Many of the giant set pieces felt out of place as an excuse to shoe-horn in more CGI--a valid criticism. I mean there's a reason why this game prompted the crea...

Just because someone criticizes something you enjoy doesn't mean they don't know how to play it. I've played the game several times.

The junction system is broken in the sense it's well too easy to trivialize the game with it by making your characters far too powerful far to fast.

*SPOILERS*
The story is a terrible mess, including a possessed former caretaker of every playable character in the game (convenient) being hunted to...

I'm not sure the word "changes" is entirely accurate. They plan on adding a single feature, free for all death match, so shouldn't it be Doom adding much requested multiplayer feature?

I'm of the opinion Final Fantasy VIII was one of the weakest in the series.

The story was dribble and incomprehensible at times, the characters of the game were forgettable and underdeveloped, and the junction system was broken. The game is certainly playable and yes people remember it fondly, but the profound weaknesses of its parts destroys it and keeps it from being anything more than a poor to average RPG.

"...and, yes, the PS4 version of DQ11 will outsell the 3DS version in Japan" I'm pretty sure this is a statistical impossibility at this point. Dragon Quest is a hugely popular series in Japan which is a massively mobile market. The PS4 has only sold about 2.5 million units in Japan compared to the 3DS's 20 million units. Even if everyone who owned a PS4 in Japan picked up the game, it would only take roughly 10-15% of all 3DS owners in the region to match or exceed the...

I mean if a random person in the street came up to your face and said "I'm going to kill you! I'm going to break into your house and kill you and your family because you said 'XYZ' " Why wouldn't you take that seriously? If this sort of behavior isn't tolerated in person, then why should we tolerate it Online?

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. The language they use, what little has been shown--you get the feeling EA is going to try and shift Mass Effect into a money-making machine scenario before shutting down BioWare. I have this feeling we are going to see "EA presents Mass Effect: Destiny".

Ah but one could argue the simple misuse in accordance with the traditions of Hindu is ignorant of Blizzard. This isn't about censorship, it's about respect. I know Blizzard meant no harm and just wanted a cool looking skin for one of their characters, but Blizzard chose not to do research. It's like paving over a temple to put up a Walmart and then calling the owners of the temple ignorant when they get very reasonably upset.

They have every right to be up...

@Fist4achin

Hold up. The near entire video game community got up in arms about Ninja Theory changing the hair color of Dante.

The internet got up in arms when the Ghostbusters were shifted to an all women cast.

I don't think the west really has room to say "Oh relax, it's just a different take on things". Fiction or otherwise.

I disagree. I don't think anyone is asking a single game portray all aspects of the Great War. This instance, however, is going to be like giving the script of "All's Quiet on the Western Front" to Micheal Bay. There will be no message, not theme, no investigation--it's going to be an explosion riddled, popcorn flick. Games already have too many of these, so I can understand the feeling this is a missed opportunity with such a relatively unexplored conflict in the m...

It's just rather convoluted. The give you very little to work with in terms of story pacing up until the 3rd act when suddenly they just dump everything on you all at once.

******SPOILERS AHEAD*******
I mean they give you bits and bobs but just look at the mess. You discover the former wife of your Garden leader (and former caretaker to all the lead characters #convenient) is possessed by Ultimicia, a Sorceress from the distant future who's main goal ...

That's odd, I don't see any real issue with Kuja's design. I would be interested in hearing why you think it's poor.

I used to think very poorly of this title, and saw it as a low point of the Final Fantasy franchise. After a time though I found it to be incredibly charming, and I grew an appreciation for it. The game had a solid story with some very strong messages about life and what we do with the time we have. I enjoyed the characters and their struggles, as well. I find it's still rather under appreciated as a Final Fantasy.

The game I don't understand the popularity of...

Every time a list like this comes out, I always think the the same thing: " Gamer Name: Was--Overpriced. Now--Slightly Less Overpriced"

True, but you do have to remember what you've seen and heard is carefully selected and filtered content designed to entice your interest and convince you of quality.

It's fun to get excited, and yes I'm looking forward to it, too. It's also okay to be cautious given the pitfalls associated with the developer from previous titles. To those who enjoy the hype I say remember you're seeing and hearing things through a PR filter designed to get you to part...

A company owns a trademark on their brand name which they, unfortunately, need to defend with these silly lawsuits due to how the laws are written. If they don't defend their IP, then they risk losing legal ground when they really do need to defend it. A lot of these companies know these legal notices for things like this are silly.

Straight characters in games often times announce, even at great length, phrases which identify them as straight. Why can't other sexualities and transgender characters be represented in the same manner? Seriously. First words out of a male quest giver's mouth "I'm looking for my wife.." Straight guy. No one bats an eyelash. Male quest giver says "I'm looking for my husband." And everyone loses their minds. "How dare he flaunt his sexuality and just...

I do like what I'm seeing, but I do have a few concerns.

I don't want this game to fall into the common traps of open world games: A tedious crafting system, a map filled with side quests and random tasks which don't re-enforce the story and are just their for padding the game length, "exploration" being short hand for "find sidequests to unlock the whole map for more sidequests". This game is so ripe for avoiding these pitfalls and would b...
