Actaully they are , if your 4K TV from 2015 have HEVC coding in them , then any new ultra HD device works on it.
HDR technology is standered now in ultra HD TVs , and 2015 models will get updates to them by sofware to allow HDR.
Even if you don't have HDR , 4K output still works on 4K TVs , providing your tv has the correct coding , basically Xbox one s will play uhd blu Ray movies , with or without HDR if your tv is 4K you can enjoy it

Being saying this for a year now. The gaming market became stale , people where forced into a console for exclusives but didn't like how they played it.
Nintendo is the prime example focused so much or mario games , and tried to force people into using things like a touch screen controller or a remote ... Great ideas yeah but it got boring and dull and lacked that wow factor in the game for story telling and enjoyment
