To be the ps4 neo sounds as though it might just be a more powerful ps4 that runs 4K content not games.
If it enters the 4K gaming marking first it will be good but not all 40 million ps4 owners will upgrade. 4k games will be limited as well as gaming consoles have not reached 1080 at 60 frames per second yet , it may just give a better power and effect to ps VR ... Seems an okay price though for the specs that have been suggested.

Actaully you have to have Xbox live to play on Windows store , you can buy the game but must have an Xbox live account to play multiplayer, maybe I am wrong but that's my understanding. If I am I apologise.
I agree it's a new approach from both ms and Sony , both have to adapt to change in technology and how fast the market is moving and demand for change.

Both Sony and Microsoft are trying to adapt their consoles to modern times that change every year , technology is moving too fast to stay still in , you have to adapt.
It won't be every year a new console , my guess is , it will be 2 Consles a high end one and a basic ...
Glad to see they are trying to stop exclusive contracts , and allow anyone to play a game. I like all kinds of games , but I am not paying 300 quid for console or machine to play one game I like.
It's also so that VR takes of proper and becomes successful , if it's not it could up the biggest flop in the market

@kwietstorm you missed the point , not everyone wants to buy a new PlayStation or Scorpio ( which is a project not the console ).
Ps neo is not PlayStation 4 , its part of the PlayStation family and aimed at high end users who want the best graphics , they have said that in many interviews. Xbox one s is aimed at users who want 4K content but don't want to pay 600 for a UHD player. And not fussed about graphics.
