It's not a new console , it's a high end version under one brand , both Sony and ms are making new consoles aimed at a higher market .. 1 to give more choice to costumes , 2 to give a bigger boost in a market that now has choice over a range of devices from mobile to tablet , to consol , to set up boxes and tv

It's not about lossing a console war , it's about changing with modern times. And if all the reports are true then the specs are already out for ps4 neo me as develops have had the Dev kits for a few months , ps4 some specs have been announced too.

Now that we know that the two consoles exist can people stop saying that Microsoft played their hand too early and showed of project scorpion when both done the same one before the show , one after

i can see your point but 4k has now been decided the format of it, thats why 4k blu ray discs are now shipping and 4 channels are being made
8k content is at least 15 to 20 years away

All developers work with each other and company's , Microsoft work with Apple on certain things vice Versa , Samsung help apple in supplying certain parts
That's what project Scorpio is , a new high end console but also a way to bring all Xbox live stuff together , Windows 10 is now part of Xbox brand
I am assuming over the next 6 months the window store will get updated on a regular basis and with the Xbox live play anywhere scheme it should unite Windows 10 gaming side ( not the operating system ) under the one banner Xbox live

They showed a video of people talking about the future of gaming and how they see it and what they want to achieve. At no point did they say here is the console it does this and this ... If you watch the video they showed at e3 they sated clearly ... Its part of the Xbox family , we want to achieve the best high end graphics , we spoke to developers , we are aiming for this
