inFamous 2 will get at least a 9.0 at IGN. It's an incredible game.

Socom 4 really isn't that great. In fact the whole series has never been so hot, and it peaked at Socom II.

How did this get approved?
-The word "review" isn't in the title
"GameTrailers" isn't in the title
-review score is not filed
-the same review has been posted here before, making this a duplicate

Man the moderation quality around here has been really poor lately.

Probably two main issues. Price (both the hardware & software) and a lack of outstanding games.

Both can be fixed with time but it's likely 3DS won't be very impressive for the coming few months.

A bit of both. I'm very picky about my Trophy collection. If I don't intend to play to 100% completion, I won't even start it.

Helps with weeding out the impulse purchases, though. I haven't regretted buying any game in a couple years now.

lol, it will NOT have Blu-ray

Maybe something with comparable data capacity, but never Blu-ray. Nintendo has always made a point of avoiding technology-related royalty expenses. Why do you think Wii has a specialized version of DVD? Why did the GameCube use specialized mini-DVDs? Why did N64 still hold on to cartridges in the face of superior CDs?

I mean seriously now. Come on.

Guess this means he can make Zone of the Enders 3 whenever he wants now?

Always can count on Greenberg making himself look an ass.

The site's owner. Obviously. No one else could be so desperate for hits.

Could've had some better picks, like Dead Nation.

Also, maybe PixelJunk Shooter (take Eden's spot) or some of the more offbeat titles like Linger in Shadows, .detuned, and NOBY NOBY BOY.

I enjoy having physical copies of the games I'm more excited about. But yeah, buying from PSN is definitely more convenient.

Excellent. I'll place my preorder in a couple hours. Very excited!

Like everyone else, I'm still a little disappointed how its a PSP game... the review confirms that single analog has gimped combat slightly. Even the developers admitted they knew PS3 would've been the right choice, but they realized it too late into development. However, they're very open to a PS3 sequel, if this game sells nicely. I'm doing my part.

Microsoft does it so often because they have relatively few first party studios. I think they have 4 or 5. This is why Microsoft tends to buy "timed exclusives". But maybe the investment pays off, buying just one game instead of staffing/funding a studio all year round, worrying about how talented everyone is, etc. I wouldn't know the specifics.

Sony has 15 first party studios, so there's a constant stream of exclusive titles for PSP and PS3.

PlayStation tends to be a better match for offbeat games, according to sales. Titles like Heavy Rain, Flower, Demon's Souls and The Last Guardian prosper on PS3.

Alan Wake is a complete oddball in the 360 library and it seems most Xbox owners weren't up to trying something different. Even PC would've been a much better platform in terms of appealing to your install base.

Looks like it didnt pay off, either.
Can't blame them, though. They signed the deal before Xbox 360 and PS3 were on the market... they didn't know the majority of Xbox owners aren't interested in this sort of game.

A translated article.... Sony already has Resistance and Killzone. There's even SOCOM, though it's a TPS. I really doubt they'll be making another military shooter soon.

it's fair criticism up the the face buttons. The geometric symbols are pure class, international, and timeless. The Dualshock's form is one of the most iconic shapes in gaming and the 4 symbols alone can serve as powerful marketing tools... much more than Nintendo, Sega, Microsoft, etc, have ever been able to do with A/B/X/Y.

Clifford if it helps you:

Circle = 1 (one stroke) = A
Cross = 2 (two strokes) = B
Triangle = 3 (three strokes) ...

Funny, as SCE was talking about how they went around and asked the development community for feedback. Too bad none of Hino-san's ideas were used.

Anyway Level-5 has made a lot more games for DS than PSP so I'm not surprised.

What about people who only own PS3?

They won't buy the game at all.

Lost sales.

Probably Gears 3 beta invites.
Sell out that easily? Yeah they would.

I want severed heads from IGN. And so will EA. Who knows how much PS3 software sales IGN's fanboyism will cost them? No way of knowing but I bet it's a lot.

Just watch as the 360 version outsells PS3 2 to 1. And we'll know why.
