I think the recent release of Lost Odyssey is a testament to that.
The game is relying heavily on America for sales and it just isn't happening. The console just isn't popular for JRPG's.

Indeed, for me I'm really grateful for the 60GB since my ex-gf stole my PS2 and some of my games, namely KH1 and 2 and Soul Calibur 2.
I bought them back cuz they're only like $10-$15, but at least I didn't have to buy a PS2 again.
So far resistance's and ripten's preview gives the game more positives than negatives, but most of the negatives are things that can be easily modified before the final build.
Still a day one for me. :)
I had no idea that FFXIII fuses both CGI and real-time. That is something I'm really looking forward to seeing in action. This game is going to be phenomenal and the day that the release date is confirmed I'm pre-ordering.
Usually RPG's start flowing on playstation systems after FF is released. You get a few before, but usually after FF it's consistent. I think developers wait for the console sales from FF to be sure there's a base out there for the genre. This is just my specula...

The game is really sounding enticing.

Recently I was playing the Resistance demo again and had to readjust myself to the controls cuz I was using L1 to aim down the sight and pressing R2 to throw grenades.

I like sneaking up on enemies instead of barging through the door guns blazing.

I have no idea why people doubted Free Radical.
The delays were necessary for this game to be sensational, these guys know what they're doing.
In the US, both consoles will be on average ground, but worldwide the PS3 will obviously sell more because of Europe.
I'm thinking 2-4million in it's first week. Pre-orders I'm sure are already over 1million and probably branching on 2million right now. The next 1-2million will be through internet and store shelf sales.
No doubt the game is about to set some historical sales figures, but I'll say 6million by its' 3rd week, not first.

You Killzone 2 fanatics sound like me with GTAIV when they weren't showing anything or saying anything about the game, but look what's happening now.
You just need to be patient. All the information you want will come, no need to rush, it's good that they aren't saying anything that way your head will explode when they do.
I am a ridiculous Final Fantasy fan, but Square has been running the same trailer since the game's announcement and it's killing me. But...

The game being delayed meant developers weren't satisfied with the final product they had at that time.
Compare the screenshots before to the screenshots now, the game looks amazing. They've also changed the lead characters voice to a more hard @$$ type, which is a huge + for me cuz the previous voice was way too geeky. The multiplayer looks fast, intense and seriously something to draw you in, not to mention the 4 player online co-op...who can say no to...
