From talks on the streets in my neighborhood the focus has definitely shifted from heavy consideration of 360 last year to the PS3 after the price drop in November.
The PS3 was always the focus of the new generation of gaming, but the initial cost of the system seriously damaged people's perception of the system and seriously hampered SONY's sales, even I was looking at the 360 and ignoring the PS3 cuz of the $600 price tag.
However, since the price drop the attent...
My 1st choice is D, then I and thirdly C.
Well in that case I guess you'll have to wait til' the PSN Cards are released to counter that problem.

It's one of the things I asked myself when I was debating which console to get first.
I just asked myself why should I pay to play online if that's the main thing I'll be doing and it's free on PSN?
My decision to go with PSN worked out great.
If you're into all the fluff of XBL that makes you feel it's justifiable of a fee then props to you, but if your main focus is online gaming then FREE always beats subscription.
I guess this release date is Microsoft's way of saying..

I was mainly refering to the lack of a high capacity format as well as a HDD standard in each system makes it look outdated in comparison.
Another comparison on the development side of games, the 360 has to push a lot harder for greater performance from what we've seen thus far, while the PS3 still has miles to go before the performance peak is visible.
I can probably see the 360 sales increase a bit for GTAIV, but the same can be said about the PS3.
The thing is if you compare the sales of both consoles in terms of future outlook, which is a primary focus in business, the 360 doesn't have the boom effect it did back in 2007 coming into 2008. The 360 looks outdated in comparison and sales will continue to reflect this more and more every month.
I can't see it outselling the PS3 consistently anymore except when GTAIV and Gears2 is...

New smaller, much cooler 45nm cell processor.
It's much cheaper to manufacture the entire console now compared to launch, so a price cut is understandable.
It'll increase visual appeal by folds especially in Japan.

It'll be a 40GB slim/lite to replace the current 40GB at $300> but the 80GB will remain as is at least until next year.

That article practically just said the PS3 is the perfect console...it took everything from the PS3.
The quality games library already started and is expanding even more this year and next year.
The in-game stuff is coming this year for PS3.
Controller is a matter of opinion, but the PS3's controller is my choice, it's basically the same controller with bluetooth, goes days before it needs recharging and I won't need to change the battery for years.

It doesn't matter to me, but it actually is visible without much inspection.
The PS3 has better AA, but I would say more skin toned colors than washed out, while 360 version's color is a lot brighter, but less AA. I would compare it as 2xAA for 360 and 4xAA for PS3.
Other than that they're both the same, epecially where it counts....the gameplay.
