I knew they had a good year, but I never expected this! Nice to be surprised every once in a while with great information.

Books are more widely accepted because that's the oldest medium. Radio came, changing entertainment,  then film hit and the story telling medium changed again.‎
Point is, every generation has something to give. Video games seem like a combination of everything before it, but with, arguably, more escapism. Gaming may very well be this generation's book as time progresses, because technology will get better, but the romanticism or the wider acceptance you're seeking is...

There's smoke here, but definitely some fire. I suppose we'll know January 11th, if that rumor itself is true. Definitely going to play the wait and see game here, as with any rumor, but if you think about it there are too many pieces on the table right now to flat-out discredit this.

Sure there is. Gaming history is ripe with "right moments," but that's neither here nor there.

Agreed. No doubt we'll pay for those games in droves, but I hope Nintendo works something out where games can be transferred over from previous products.
I would bet Gamecube games will be making an appearance, so that should be interesting. I don't blame you for wanting them on the go, because that purple lunchbox had some killer titles.

The Switch really is the perfect place to play older Nintendo titles, but the lack of the Virtual Console service doesn't feel like it's so much the right time as it is finding the right moment. It's definitely coming, as sure as death and remakes, but I don't think their focused on that right now.
From a company standpoint those Console Classics make good money, with more minis on the way in a few more months, so there's no need to rush any virtual service.‎

Question, Cobra. Not about the poop because that would be ridiculous, but how was the game on your second time through?‎

I figured as much. With as many in the game as there are it feels like a load of just that to collect them all.

What took so long for this news to catch up with any analyst? You guys are late to the game, because this was already established May 21, 2013 when Microsoft just handed Generation 8 to Sony. When Microsoft's Xbox One passes the Playstation 4 in sales I'll publicly apologize, so until then I'll never believe they'll come back from that press conference.

Video games have been pretty mainstream for, at least, a decade now. So, to be honest I already thought games were. I haven't heard anyone call the medium a toy, think playing them is weird or geeky, or garnered a head shake in probably 17 years.
I would imagine what's left of the Silent Generation and probably some Baby Boomers don't care for games. That's about it. All in all, if anything it's only going to become more normal as time drums on.

Looks like the January Direct may be all but confirmed. The entries on Amazon are listed as Title 1, Title 2, and so on. Each entry also has "Just announced at the Nintendo Switch event" written under each one also. So, unless this is Amazon's way of doing loot boxes, then my wallet is ready.‎

To save everyone a click, which turns into too many. Here's the questions.‎

Aren't you too old to be playing video games?
No, I'm vintage.

How can you afford to waste money on that?
Hooking. 'Nuff said.‎

Haven't you noticed every game is the exact same?
Call of Duty is a helluva drug to some.‎

Don't you know games are bad for you?
Only if you're in the ro...

Does this mean bad parenting becomes a health disorder too or does that count as a disease?

Why are you insinuating that I said high skilled set people aren't creative? I simply said different skill sets bring out more creativity, so in other words the more variety the people the better. New ideas, out of the box opinions, and a new eye never hurt any Triple A developer. If this is what Nintendo is shooting for then it makes sense. If you still don't understand what I'm saying then we can agree to disagree.‎

It makes sense. He wants “designers who aren’t super-passionate game fans” because he wants them to have different interests and skill sets. You get more creativity that way since someone would look at the project in another light, so there's nothing odd about this.‎

I would love to say this second opinion piece on this 20 million forecast will be the last one we hear of, but I wouldn't bet on it.
The console hasn't even been out a year yet, we haven't had a Direct, nor an E3, and with Nintendo such an easy target nowadays, let's ease off the "No Way" throttle just a tad.

That's too cool! I hope you two enjoy yourselves. Happy gaming, Darklink.

Eh. My dad started to fall out of video games around this time, so I'm not too sure about that. It doesn't stop me from trying though. Guess the next time I see him I'll give that a shot. My ace would be the NES, though.‎

I doubt it, but it could happen since the previous installment hit in May. I'm fine with waiting or getting it in Summer either way.

That's quite a feat. If Nintendo keeps the momentum up I believe it's possible. No doubt this is a new Nintendo we're dealing with, but 2018 they're really going to have to knock it out of the park. I truly hope they do and surprise us all with a killer line up and more third party support. Besides, good competition can only help us all.

Glad to see Kingdom Battle got more love. My favorite surprise of '17.
