I think this guy needs to "let it go" as he puts it. 90's nostalgia will be here awhile, whether the author likes it or not. Let's face it, this was one of the golden ages of video games and a lot of strides were made. Because of this you have gamers that have seen a lot, like the transition of 2D to 3D and how it impacted play or gave new freedom, now the community of that era is helping make games that influenced them, as it is with any art or entertainment.

I'll take backwards compatibility over a remaster any day, especially if the game was released last generation, which tells me a developer wants to be paid twice for the same product.
