Hard to top that outstanding first year, and although I do think this second year has been more quiet on the eastern front than I would want, 2019 looks to be making up for that.
Cliche by now, but Super Mario Bros on the NES. I didn't have much of a connection with my dad when I was young and since he played video games that title would become our common ground. It was with this game's imaginative fun and power to bring people together that I felt these pieces of plastic should stay a part of my life.

This is an incredibly tough question, but I'll go with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This game truly was the benchmark for me by showing me what should be expected in 3D games for that first play on.
