Like it or not Developers and Publishers are closely attached by the hip. If you want you favorite developer to earn more and make quality games, the publisher itself has to earn money. It's always in the contract.

I am just pulling one of the points mentioned in the article and thinking if that could actually work. Just think hypothetically if something like this happened, then is it worth the sacrifice of buying used games or not? I for one would go for it as I usually buy my games new. Ya, why what's wrong in that. I am pretty sure Gamestop and other retail chain buy back used games at 30$ and resell it for 50-55$. At least at the nearest gamestop, they always lure me in buying these 'used' games for 50$ and not to go for a new copy which costs 60$... A lot of people go for the used copy... That's a 60$ loss for the publisher and Devs and 20-30$ profit for Gamestop.

The 360 might have more titles rated number 1 in a certain category, but some of the categories/games aren't even worth mentioning if you are a hardcore gamer (which I presume you are)... Just admit it, PS3 has had a better year in terms of exclusive games and those are a huge factor when deciding these awards... They carry more weightage than integrating Twitter and Youtube apps in your Dashboards.

^^^ You base your judgement on a single game and that too on a trivial point of the frame rate dipping (something which can be easily avoided by disabling auto-save or just wait for a patch) in deciding 360 has had a better year? This is an overall assessment of consoles and not something based on niche preference. It's not as if PS3 users don't have Skyrim to play...
