Oculus really needs Sony to nail VR and make it mainstream or partner with MS for the Xbox Scorpio or else no one will give a shit about VR at that price. 600$ for Oculus and 200$ possible for controller (without tax). Not to mention the hardware cost for running games at a decent frame rate means you can easily blow that budget to >2000-2500$
No average joe gonna buy this. This will be relegated to a niche product that would be cool to show off but makes little sense to...
The problem with HDR is that there are currently very few TVs that even support it let alone 4K TVs with HDR with a fast response rate (not to mention there is nothing that is cheap). I have a HDR 4KTV and the input lag is nowhere near my monitor which adds a disadvantage in fast paced/online gaming.
Don't get me wrong. HDR looks amazing. The only content I could test is Marco Polo on Netflix - Crappy show but amazingly shot in few places! However, I feel I would take a...
I am also waiting for any news. I have a PS4 with 4.0 update (HDR) but I have no content to test my 4K HDR TV. Kinda sucks. The least they could have done was to ship a demo of HDR which you can toggle on existing PS4s. They just shipped the feature without anything to test it with. I want to check-out how UC4 looks with HDR on.
It is kinda funny I haven't read a single comment made by Sean Murray the creator after all the claims of him lying were hurled at him. Any self-respecting person would have clarified or accepted his mistake but it just further fueled my anger that there wasn't a formal apology or even much clarification on the matter. Busy counting his money I guess.
If it weren't for the refunds, Sony ended up giving, the studio easily could have made a killing on this game. For a small studio, 200K sales on Steam and I am assuming a lot more on PS4 easily means they could have banked a lot of money. They hardly seemed to have marketed it (it was all word of mouth and smoke and mirrors).
TBH, the game was nowhere worth even half the 60$ price. Maybe 25$. I got bored of it after the first few hours.
Is the Xbox Scorpio going to be the same price as a PS4 Pro then? Mind you by this time next year the PS4 Pro might be selling for 350 or even 300 if Sony wants to be aggressive. If so (highly unlikely), then you can criticize the PS4 Pro all you want. Until then your argument is moot.
The current existing PS4 outperforms the Xbone S. You can scream 4K support from the top of a building doesn't change the fact that the most 'powerful' Xbox you can buy NOW isn...
An upscaled Xbox 720P/900P game on a 4KTV looks worse than a native 1080P PS4 game upscaled by my Samsung 4KTV. Infact 1080P scales better to 4K since 3840x2160 pixels / 1920x1080 pixels = exact 4x scaling whereas a variable resolution which most XB1 games use doesn't have perfect scaling (not to mention less pixels being rendered).
The upscaler isn't doing anything fancy. It is replicating pixels and it doesn't make much difference if that upscaler is in your c...
"Because the cost of building a PC is so much higher".
No it isn't. If you think Xbox Scorpio is gonna cost <400$, then stop smoking whatever you are smoking. Also, the console is rumored to come out late next year by that time, GPUs will be much more cheaper than they are now. Yes you'll have to spend in the range of 500-600$ now to get Scorpio equivalent performance, but that is the premium you pay to get a year lead.
You guys seem ...
By your logic what is the point of Xbox Scorpio? Why not just build a PC now with much better specs and play the Xbox Exclusive on it? By today's standard, I can build a PC that produces 6TFLOPS of power easily for around 400-500$. Why are you waiting a year to spend the same amount on a machine which will be 'outdated' by PC standards when it lands?
And your whole argument of PS4 exclusives are overblown and XB1 are criticized reminds me of the sour grapes stor...
I look at your points and it seems like a long post by a user who is salty and trying to console himself that his purchase is better than the competitor.
Your main points:
1) Better Controller: Subjective. It doesn't matter to me personally. I would get a better looking game on a PS4 as opposed to a worse looking/running game if the controller preference was the last thing I had to consider.
2) Better UI: PS4's UI is more snappier IMO.

I have a 50 Mbps Verizon Fios connection and I can stream 4K without a hitch (and I don't even live in a big city in US). This thing isn't targeted for 3rd world countries for now. The market size of people owning a 4K TV in 3rd world countries is negligible as those things cost a fortune compared to their earning standard. Also, even I was from a 3rd world country and my parents still have unlimited data over there (Even though the speed is capped at 10Mbps).
If yo...
^^ It does not do full HDR. I already know that but it does support partial. It even enables the option when I watch something that is HDR enabled on Netflix. I didn't have 1500 bucks to blow on a HDR set so am making do with this one. Even without complete HDR, 4K content looks amazing IMO. Even upscaled 1080P looks really good.
I got a 4K Curved Samsung TV on Amazon Prime Day. Costed 650 bucks if I remember correctly. It was this model - https://www.amazon.com/Sams...
I am pretty sure it will cost around the same or even less during Black Friday. The picture quality is great and it supports HDR (although the br...
I simply cannot fathom why this decision was made. They pioneered Blu-Ray and it was one of the biggest selling point of the PS3 as well. I am happy the original PS4 is getting HDR support. I have a 4K HDR TV and this would at least mean I can enjoy it. I initially wanted to jump on the PS4 Pro due to the 4K features, but no 4K Blu-Ray means a no buy for me at least.
I hope they have a buy back policy for existing PS4 owners. If they get a year lead over the Xbox Scorpio, it'll be very difficult for MS to come back especially if Sony nails the price for the Neo.
I think UC3 wasn't as good as UC4 or UC2. Yes it had bigger set pieces but I think they went too over the top especially the ship scene. The end of the game kinda fell apart a little bit in terms of the story. The multi-player was dope though. Also when it first came out, it had a really floaty shooting feel which they patched later on but it left a bad taste as many people had already completed the game.
I feel UC4 although was more grounded felt like a much more matur...
You really think you can convince Xbox fanboys on admitting that PS4 had a better game showing? Stop feeding the trolls. Everyone knows Sony killed it. Everyone is talking about Sony games. I haven't heard anyone be as excited for Gears 4 or Recore or Halo Wars as they did with God Of War or Horizon or Death Stranding. Just check the front page here or any gaming website. All going gaga over PS4 exclusives.
Most exclusive games Sony showed were AAA title. I mean even a ...
Yes! GOW2 was my favorite God Of War. I liked 3 a lot as well but the repetition of the levels put a dampener to it a little bit. I don't care if this game comes out towards the end of 2017 or even start 2018 (following their March tradition). I want it to be the best GOW game and they can totally achieve that with the Norse Mythology! I personally feel the Norse Mythology is so much more richer than the Greek one.
The made the camera movement available which is huge! GOW games are always beautiful but the static camera sometimes made you wish you can move it. I love this new direction! If previous GOW games are to go by, this is gonna be AMAZING
RDR was my favorite game last gen! Knowing Rockstar, this is gonna be Epic!
