Although I disagree with a lot of this article. The writer made some fair arguments and addressed opposing viewpoints. Overall, I'd say pretty decent article.

HD remakes cost 5x more than Wii remakes. And the entire fatal frame franchise has only sold a total of about 200,000 copies.
That's pretty sad considering that the PS2 was the most popular system of all time.
Unfortunately, most people just aren't too keen on pure horror titles.
Even though 70,000 is mediocre, fatal Frame IV for the Wii was still the top selling Fatal Frame game. There really just isn't that big of a market for pure horror games. I love them though~ ;)
Nintendo has more IPs than any other game company though.
If they want to make any genre they pretty much have anything covered...

I'm thinking they should continue the regular DS too. I mean... does Pokemon really need a huge facelift? ....ok maybe. But still not every handheld game necessarily needs gamecube level graphics. Since the 3DS is backwards compatible it shouldn't be so strange for a lot games to be continued to be playable on ds and 3DS.
I had to import the UK version to play NPC! Pikmin 2. Wish more would release. Zelda Windwaker and Super Mario Sunshine would have been awesome!
Hopefully MGS1 would be the MGSTS Gamecube version with all of it's wonderful added coolness. Minus the Nintendo shoutouts of course since that would just seem weird on a Sony console. lol
Wow. This article is riddled with holes in logic, and completely ignores why the DS sold better than the PSP in the first place.
I seem to remember a lot of sony fanboys bitching about Nintendo releasing New Play Control versions of Gamecube games. Now everyone seems to be supporting these. Myself included! I really look forward to more re-releases.

It's a decent piece. But, I baby sit my neighbors kids sometimes, and they love the original Super Mario Bros., and Super Mario 64.
Anyway, maybe it's better to compare it to music?
Because the classics will always be classics, but only if you have an ear to listen. Some folks just don't appreciate older music. But there are also still a lot of people in high school these days that enjoy classic rock.

Good article. Still, 60 million psp units in the Nintendo dominated handheld market is not too shabby it all. It might not have the numbers that DS has, but it's enough to keep the thing mostly profitable. My hat's off to Sony for the PSP. Well done. Not being swallowed up by Nintendo is one heck of an accomplishment by my book.
Hopefully the new PS3/360 Silent Hill game will be good~

I'm not sure, but the new one for Wii appears to be a remake of Fatal Frame 2.
Most of the horror games come to Wii now because it's a niche genre whose sales could never cover the cost being developed for an HD console that costs 5 times more to develop for.
