Why is it that consoles are considered so sacred?
If it was a PC and you wanted to run another operating system, you can. If you wanted to replace any part, you can. If you wanted any software at all, or wanted to do anything that your machine is capable you can. Because you own it!
If companies want us to not be allowed to do anything to 'their' consoles, then they should not be selling them. They should all be free, and be considered to being on loan from t...
I agree. It's time to let go.
Good read, by the way.
Is this guy kidding?
I would argue that people care more about graphics this generation than any generation ever!
And Gamecube/PS2 era the golden age?
No....... This guy is clearly just out of high school.
The 16 bit days was the golden age.
Glad someone else did their homework.
If you're parents were murdered in front of you as a small child, and then your next father figure was also murdered when you were still pretty young,you might too.
First of all.... good article.
Anyway, I can't believe people still complain about this game! It was great, and I think it's that they showed more of a human side of Samus that made her seem stronger. Not weaker! After all, to have no fear and continue fighting is not a test of courage. However, to have fear, and yet move forward in spite of that fear /is/ courage.
I'm so glad Nintendo has been pretty decent with backwards compatibility... although not perfect. lol
So.... Silent Hill Shattered Memories never truly felt like a better experience because of the motion controls and IR and Wii remote speaker????
I think the people not agreeing with this article has simply not played RE4 Wii long enough.
Anyway, RE4 Wii felt amazing. In the Gamecube version of the game, I almost never used the knife because it felt so cumbersome. With the Wii...... wow, I used it all the time. As soon as I knocked them down...KNIFE!!!
I actually liked the Indiana Jones game that came out on Wii. ..........but OH MY GOD! The piano part! What were they thinking! The should not have used motion controls for that! It almost made me hate the game. Most of the gestures were fine... but I must have died a thousand times in near the end of the game on the airship when you have to move around the suspended grand piano! The controls were terrible!
I don't know if anyone actually read the article.
It was really more about how people can manipulate data.
Overall average doesn't really matter. In fact even the overall average of all the worthwhile experience does't even matter. The only thing that's really important is the overall experience~
2010 was a great year for everyone!
That was freaking awesome!
He's probably just some high schooler.
Both. But 3DS first♪
@duplissi
Last time I checked, Nintendo /has/ gone back to their roots.
Lets see.... in the past year or so, we've had Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong, and Kirby. We would have had Zelda too, but no Zelda game ever comes out when it's first announced to these days.
Heck, Nintendo even announced a new Kirby game, and revived Kid Icarus. If you don't think that this is representative of the Nintendo of yore, then I mourn your loss of pe...
There is a fundamental difference between milking a franchise to death, and keeping a successful franchise going.
When games like Zelda and Mario have been around for 25 years, of course people are going to accuse the franchise of being milked.
In 20 years, people will say that Microsoft needs to stop milking Halo, and Activision needs to stop milking Call of Duty.
@action bastard
I'm 26, and I have no idea what you are talking about.
Wii's my favorite of the 3.
@sidar
Well said! Kudos!
So... since when has competition on the market been a bad thing?
Nintendo and Sony's presence on the market both make each other extra awesome!
I might not be pre-ordering the NGP like I am the 3DS, but I'm going to getting this device regardless. Just like how I bought a PSP much later than I did my DS.
Both consoles should have their own flavor. And /THANK YOU/ Sony for the dual analog function!
I kind of wish the 3DS had d...
I'm was hoping that the thing would continue UMD(like a bluray version or something), if only for the fact that it could be backwards compatible.
Dude.. what you just said is a textbook example of the "slippery slope" logical fallacy.
Just because you want to do what you want with something you bought, doesn't mean someone is going to go the whole 9 yards and distribute illegally copied content on the web.
I hacked my Wii, but I only did it to play import games which I bought while I was in Japan.
