The idea isn't that you are always looking at the screen. It's like for situations for example when I've played Pikmin or Assassin's creed and I really got tired of checking the map all the time for whatever reason because of the delay it takes to bring up the map, and those close the map. Now when I want to check the map I just have to look down. I don't think many developers are going to be producing games where we have to constantly change our bodies position for exactl...
100, really? Not even the Wii is that cheap. If you wait that long Nintendo will be releasing their next console. And, it's more than slightly stronger. It's a huge performance boost over current gen consoles. Just the GPU alone is at least 5x more powerful. The PS3 is using an old geforce7800 that's about as powerful as the 7600. The xbox 360 is an r500 ati gpu.
I can has?
I think it seems credible. heh.
I can't how many fanboys jump on to this and believe it!!! I mean... really.... if you want to see what next gen looks like, look at PCs. Consoles will never surpass PCs, because consoles are static. PCs are ever changing.
hahaha. no.
Can't wait to see the choices!
Even if the Wii U isn't the most cutting edge tech now, it's really foolish to believe that 6 year old tech and a 7 year old GPU can really compete with new technology. You know that it would actually cost a company more money to use outdated tech right? This is because of the cost of trying to recreate infrastructure for the manufacturing of old parts.
You know... just because the chip is made by IBM, and has the same number of cores... doesn't mean it's the same thing. The CPU in the Wii U is an altogether different beast.
The CPU specs are just not true. Here is an official press release from IBM regarding the CPU.

It's Power 7 architecture.
@darkHeroZX(ran out of bubbles)
Excellent point. By the way, I don't even really care about the specs, as long as it's an improvement over last gen. I know there are going to be stellar tit...
I think Nintendo has stated that games will not upscale, which is really sad news in my book. So it's possible that we might see some visual improvement, like how Gamecube titles looked better on the Wii, even though they were at the same resolution.
Nintendo has already confirmed that you can use any external hard drive. Which is awesome because buying my own hard drive means I can get a good one for cheap. I still can't believe I spent $100 upgrading to a 100gb 360 hard drive when most 1TB hard drives were under that!
Can't wait! Ready to pre order!!!
The truth is, Nintendo doesn't actually even have to show anything, most gamers(fanboys aren't gamers by the way, they are more like dogmatic religious fanatics) know that Nintendo always brings it's "A game" to the table.
You realize you can't really compare a launch lineup with a system that's been out for 6 years, right? That said... the launch lineup is pretty impressive, though almost entirely ports.
Zombi U, Aliens:Colonial Marines, Assassin's Creed 3, Rayman Legends, Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros. Wii U, Project P-100, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Ninja Gaiden 3, Mass Effect 3, and Darksiders II, Arkham City.
Also... new system, means new games, immediately discounting ...
I'm glad the rumors say it will be in a style similar to Skyward Sword... and... I know I'm mostly alone on this(braces for mountains of disagrees), but I'm really disappointed that they seem to not be using motion plus for the next game.... Once I got the hang of it... stopped thinking of the game as waggle, and started visualizing the Wii remote as a real "whatever I was supposed to be holding," it really grew on me!
Still.... Zelda rumors often prove to be fa...
All I have to say is.... Why isn't Lufia or Lufia out yet!!! Lufia 2 was my all time favourite Super Nintendo game!
Just one you say?
I've been arguing that for months, but people on these forums just don't seem to get that. They're just hoping Nintendo's console to be really underpowered so they can keep trolling. And you know what? Even when the games that start coming out later prove them wrong.... they'll still argue about it, saying that last gen games looked better than the ones coming later in Wii U's life cycle.
@ your second comment.
You're right, it's not even close to PCs, but consoles will never be close to PCs. Heck when PS3 and 360 released they were already out of date by PC standards too. That said, because consoles run in such and optimised environment, the focus on a particular architecture to get everything you can out of it kind of trumps how weak consoles are. Heck look at how well Xbox 360 and PS3 have held their own? I really don't expect Microsoft's and Sony...
