This has to mean TLOU2 will also have game boost as well!!
Im almost finished with my first play through. Now I'll have more reason to play New game + on the PS5!
It most likely has something to do with the way Sony has built this new OS. There may be compatibility issues. It could be possible for the devs to patch it if they cared to but thats highly unlikely.
Yeah I'll believe MS website with the spec sheet before I believe IGN.
"Expandable Storage. Support for 1TB Seagate Expansion Card for Xbox Series X|S matches internal storage exactly (sold separately). Support for USB 3.1 external HDD (sold separately)."

Ok understood, Thanks for that clear explanation! 😎
Yeah but the USB interface can only do so much when it's at a certain spec. The USB 3.1 that's on the Xbox can only output 5Gbps. The PS5 however has USB 3.2 which allows output up to 10Gbps. So the CPU will be a factor behind it but the rate at which the USB interface can handle will also be a factoring difference.
@imortus
Could you explain to me how MS is defining what BC games are optimized compared to the enhanced ones they are doing?
From my understanding they have a dedicated team that's upgrading a good amount but not all BC games and the rest run natively with higher resolutions and games with unlocked frame rates or performance modes will run it higher more stable frame rates.
This is how PS5 will be doing it. 100 select PS4 games wil...

Im interested to see the comparison between BC loading on XSX and PS5 like most people here probably are. There should be a decent difference since BC games are relying on the raw speeds of the SSD's. External drives should have a decent difference too on PS5 due to XSX only having 2 USB 3.1(5Gbps) ports and the PS5 has 3 USB 3.2(10Gbps) ports. So most likely we will see faster loading times for BC games than we are seeing in this video.
Shishkabuuuug!!! Had me dying! 🤣
I watched a hands on with this game and it actually looks pretty interesting. I probably wont play it but i think it might be one of those sleeper hits for people who love collecting things and solving puzzles.
Its okay Sprinter theres no use even trying with DJStotty. He's mostly neutral but if you have a negative opinion towards Xbox, he/her leans over to the green side of the fence to express his opinion. However, if someone has a negative opinion towards PS5 he either doesn't show his presence or he adds his two cents. No disrespect to DJStotty... just expressing my observation over these couple months.
Im sure it was just a friendly joke no need to go into defense mode. Thats how I took it at least.
Back compatibility has already been stated that 99% of ps4 games will be backwards compatible with ps5. Here is the link and the quoted statement.

If this helps, I have a SN750 from WD in my gaming PC and it is a fantastic SSD! I'll most likely stick with either WD or Samsung for any future SSD's for my PC or my PS5 for the foreseeable future.
Its Double the speed of the SN750's and the SN850 is PCI-E 4.0 and the 750 is 3.0 so it wouldn't work with the ps5 due to the slower speed and the NVME interface being older.
The difference here is that more competition will release their options for PS5 and SSD prices WILL go down and that has been proven with current PCI-E Gen 3.0 prices. I cant remember the last time I saw a price drop for proprietary storage besides sales especially from MS. Memory cards from Sony, MS and Nintendo back in the day always stayed the same price through previous generations.
Edit: Actually I believe Sony dropped the price on the Vita memory cards but thats prob...

"But then again, that increase to $60 came to consoles in the mid 2000's. PC went for years longer before seeing that increase."
Price increase started with the 360 and ps3 which was 2006? price increase for PC started in 2009-2010. And with how much closer consoles are to PC's now especially with cross platform play, we could possible see this increase within a year or two instead of 4-5 years.
The only real solution that would help would be to only allow in person preorders for companies that have Brick & mortar stores. Best Buy, Gamestop, Walmart, Target etc. This wouldn't completely stop scalpers but this would definitely reduce the amount that are being scooped up by scalpers bots online.
Boost mode just means they will be running natively on the PS5 hardware instead of running in legacy ps4 mode. Boost mode is just a friendlier term for most consumers.
