Did you just call the PC stone-age, and then try to say PS3 has better graphics than it? O_o I don't see Crysis graphics anywhere on the PS3, and no I'm not a PC fanboy, I have a PS3 and about 40 games on it. I just hate when people like you really think that it has better graphics and preformance than even a budget gaming PC.
Well you have to think about the fact that Crysis is rendering a huge open (sort of) environment with real time shadows for every tree and leaf where practically everything is destructible, and it still looks really good. And the water in Crysis looks better than the water in Uncharted imo, but it still has impressive water effects.
Textures make a huge difference in games. If you have a PC game which your PC can play smoothly, turn all of the graphics up and set the textures at low or medium. It will look ugly as hell.
I'm impressed that it says it's running at 120 frames per second on a single GTX 280, although the video itself looks more like it's running at 25fps. But that might be because Kotaku always runs like a slug for me.
Decent game, not really too bad, but even on max settings the graphics still look outdated.
Doom 4! =) It better be there.
Edit: nevermind
I bet it's gonna use Games for Windows Live on PC... god I hate that thing.
Mininum requirements: Geforce GTX 295 or Radeon HD 4890. Crysis killer comfirmed!!!
lol, if my PC can run Crysis on 1900x1200 at max with AAx4 45-50 fps average, I'm pretty sure it could run those to game with no sweat.
Blah, to me 720p is blurry as hell, I'm too used to gaming at 1900x1200.
Thats because the cards aren't out yet. I don't remember what ATI's card is but I'm thinking it will be a new 55xx series, and for Nvidia it'll be the GTX 300 series.
I doubt it's gonna look that good, even on DX11. Now what I wanna see is Crysis 2 with DX11.
Yup, same goes for most companies who give PC gamers free DLC and make the console owners pay for DLC, Microsoft makes them charge for it.
Ugh, I was gonna take a bunch of pictures to show Graywolf some of the textures, so I opened up Mass Efect and kept hitting f12 think I was taking screenshots, only to realize later that Fraps wasn't open! Anyways, the game is a mixed bag in the textures. Some of the textures, especially the rocks, look very good, but what was annoying is sometimes when you'd see a very good texture, there was an extremely ugly one right next to it. And the clothes textures are awful. Anyways, this all seems ...
"I remember all the hype for UT 3 on ps3
people could make their own content and tried to make gears of war."
I have spent alot of time on the Epic Forums for UT3 for maps and mods, and so far I have only seen one person try to remake a map from Gears of War for UT3 (and he never finished it, he keeps saying he's working on it but it's been 2 years!). And you could only make your own content if you had the PC version, then you can cook it for PS3.
Alex Jones!
You guys talking about pop-in when loading the saves or pop-in while playing the game? The pop-in with the loading happens sometimes on PC but it only takes a couple seconds for everything to show up, but pop-in during gameplay has never happened to me on PC.
"So far it looks exactly the same."
If you've payed attention, the lighting and shadows are alot better, and that one planet they showed to demonstrate the exploration looked amazing too. It also looks more like Blade Runner and The Fifth Element now.
"by achieving this it would naturally become the best western RPG created to date."
IMO nothing is ever gonna be better than Deus Ex.
Well I guess you're right, I barely ever notice Killzone 2's bad textures unless I'm looking for them, and because of everything else going on, it looks really good. But in a game like Rage or Unreal Tournament 3, the style they go for is a clean smooth look, and high res textures are perfect for that. And ID has been known for extremely good lighting, sharp shadows, a good atmosphere, and nice textures since Doom 3.
