Looks like this is going to replace Garry's Mod for machinima purposes. This is brilliant.
He just compared Steam and Origin to Myspace and Facebook. So Steam is the Myspace of DD?
Okay EA...
I don't know why the tone and style changed so much from this.

The 360 controller "emulation" is more like making games detect the PS3 controller as a 360 controller rather than emulating anything. Which means, if a 360 gamepad works, so would MotionJoy. I've used my PS3 controller in countless games and never ran into any incompatibility problems.
"you dont even need a keyboard to play SC2"
lolwut
Anyways, in Motionjoy/DS3 Tool, you have to set it to "Xbox 360 controller emulator" for the analogue sticks to work. The "Playstation 3" mode, by default, has analogue sticks turned off. Although you can change that, it's better to stick with 360 mode since it has better compatibility with games.
I also suggest you calibrate the analogue sticks and triggers ...
I remember somewhere where they said that Russia, usually the largest source of piracy in Europe, turned into either their 2nd or 1st country in Eastern Europe that bought the game. Shows what not having DRM can do.
It wasn't just the graphics. The Xbox version had most of the levels made more linear due to hardware limitations, and even entire levels in the middle of the game cut out.
The beginning opening sequence was turned into a cutscene, while on PC you start playing as soon as the ship lands. I couldn't imagine not playing the PC version.
You guys see the video of Gamebryo 4.0 from GDC 2012? Now that's the engine every game needs.

All jokes aside (except the video isn't a joke), Unity is a great engine for indie devs. Also, CryEngine's license fees are w...
The sequel... is 100 times more messed up with what happens. But I liked the first one better. The focus on the 3 characters worked better, and the doctor was a much better antagonist than the weird guy in the second. Plus he was in Lexx, so bonus points for that. The first one is a better movie.
I've never cringed so much during a movie than when I saw the second movie though. And I've seen a lot of gory movies.
I highly doubt anyone would make a console game ONLY playable with a keyboard and mouse. That's why Arma 2, or any Arma game, will never show up on consoles. There are so many keys, but a lot of them actually do something useful, and the controls can't be condensed to a controller.
Now for a DayZ retail spin-off not based on Arma 2, that would make more sense. And that could work on a controller. But I still don't see that as something likely to happen.
Left 4 Dead is an co-op arcade shooter with zombies. DAYZ is a survival game/mod, where human encounters tend to be more dangerous than the zombies. The only similarity is that they both have zombies. The gameplay and direction are completely different, so you can't really even compare the two.
They don't even need 5 million to make a profit. EA said an in interview a while back that they base whether or not they keep IPs by opportunity cost, and what that team could be doing instead.
Say a team is making a game in what they consider a "niche genre" that's selling, say, 2 million. Why make that, when the team could instead be making the next big dude-bro shooter that's more likely to sell 5 million? It's missed opportunity in EA's eyes....

A while back, someone who worked at Eidos Montreal said that after Dues Ex: HR was released and successful, a good amount of people left the studio looking to get jobs at other big studios with "Deus Ex" on their resume.
You can skip the majority of the cutscenes besides the intro and outro cutscene of each chapter. You're kind of exaggerating the problem.
It's one of the best games I've played recently. It has really good dialogue, a cool style, fun gameplay, nice graphics. After a finished it, I replayed many of the levels several times. The shooting is really just so damn fun.
I'd say the bullet-time is more of a core part of the game than a gimmick. Without the bullet-time, it wouldn't be Max Payne. It's like removing the plasmids from Bioshock. It would also just play like a poor-FPS. It wouldn't b...
"those were shipped units, not confirmed sold at retail genius."
I don't know what people don't get about this. SHIPPED IS SOLD. There's no way to accurately track how many copies each individual store has sold to tally it all up, especially with non-major retailer stores. And when a store buys a copy to put on there shelf, Rockstar has their money.
This doesn't just go for games. It goes for movies, music, ect. Stores also just don&...
He made one of the last games which allowed you to kill children. And probably the only one where you can blow them up into gibs.

Square Enix said that the Luminous Engine is going to be made available for all of their internal studios, so we could very easily see a Tomb Raider, Hitman, or Deus Ex game using the engine.
Parts of Luminous are already being used in FF Versus XIII. Crystal Tools is being permanently dumped.
