“Why not tax games that use loot boxes? This has actually been discussed in the past since it's a major profit, governments around the world should at least get some". “violent" video games to be taxed 10% higher than average. Why not transfer that instead to games that have loot boxes you need to pay actual money for?”

• imo, that’s the foot in the door. Taxes are regulations especially when it’s a penalty tax. I can’t think of a single penalty tax on goods ...

They should be proud lol.

Thanks for that. Looks great.

Do you think the Bethesda studio is making a new IP instead?

2884d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Mortal Kombat 11, Biomutant, Red Dead 2, Arkane’s next game, iDs next game, a new Elder scrolls maybe. Bethesda is probably going to have a hell of a show in terms of new announcements.

@Edmix
It would be really difficult to justify cutting features at this point. They have added so much that the threat of bare bones review scores and community complaints are a big risk. The only thing that would justify it are widely successful remasters. I have no doubt a MW2 remaster would sell like crazy. If black ops 4 is a futuristic hover COD then I hope mw2 comes at the same time.

“This year, Ubisoft is sponsoring “Accessibility in Games: Where we are and where to next,” panel taking place Wednesday, March 21,”

This will be an insightful discussion for those gamers who are currently focused on AAA MTs, loot boxes and casual models/mechanics.

@subtenko
lol come again? I assume you mean “it’s asinine at any point” but correct me if I’m wrong. I don’t know but a couple of users have explained their fondness of interactivity in smaller rooms. I always hide the chat so if that’s what you are saying then I agree lol.

LOL So what? Twitter is mad that he’s putting a pound on something that isn’t a hashtag? Poor racket lol. Twitter vs tumblr?

I would like to see some unique stuff from 3rd party. Of course the usuals like a new DKC and smash but something really crazy like Mario vs rabbids.

Yeah it’s asinine at that point. Whenever I’m watching a livestream like E3 or something I always turn the comments off. Who can even read that fast lol?

Games I used to breeze through as a kid give me a hard time now lol. A lot more difficult than I remember. I wouldn’t consider myself a snob, probably just spoiled by the accessibility push of the industry. It’s not about being challenging anymore for the most part, my senses were dulled. That’s why games like dark souls blew up imo. People were triggered into a time when there was no mercy or generous checkpoints. I don’t like losing hours of progress anymore personally lol.

Buying advertising to cut advertising. *mind blown*

“Maybe I’m just imagining things”
No people talk crap in every comment section lol. If its not fanboy wars then it’s sports, politics and everything in between. It has also been going on for about 10k years lol. Competitive by nature. I don’t buy into brand loyalty on an activist level but I can understand the thought process lol. It’s like taking a jab at someone’s sport team because they suck.

I have no idea what you are trying to say though. Xbox users are getti...

“Mostly” is a stretch but I think the abundance is a good thing. Especially for a franchise like COD. The COD4 remaster shows that people still want this gameplay. If their success pushes COD in a direction to when it was more enjoyable then I say great. I think most can say that WW2 is a better direction than the last few games. MW2 was COD done right and I hope they learn something in the process of this remaster. What makes it work so well? Sometimes you have to take a step back to move fo...

“What comes to my mind first is China's policy for Overwatch to display the percentage of probability a player can get by paying for loot boxes.”
That’s reasonable but I don’t know how much of a difference it would make. I would prefer a private industry organization like the ESRB implement this rather than the government though. We both can agree that it would be the foot in the door for more unwelcome problems.

“Truth be told, I don't think I can properly...

“Despite the beauty in hearing that people should be free to do what they want, there are just some things that need to be regulated to protect common folk. The predatory nature of loot boxes is one of them.”

How though? What kind of regulation? Are we talking bans? That’s not regulation, that’s illegal (at least in the USA). If you mean protections then from what exactly? Age restrictions, odds guarantees? I don’t see what the problem is exactly other than people who don’...

This is great news and a solid plan, I hope it works out. Seems like the perfect choice for a venture like this lol. If Tretton helps the middle ground developers push out and polish games without being a complete control freak then it could only lead to good things. Games like Kingdom Come Deliverance would have benefitted greatly by an organization like this.

The evolution indie is going through will be the home of the hobbyist gamer. Big publishing will follow the casual...
