Game and Watch was the original Nintendo handheld. It was revolutionary in 1980. They had single games on single handhelds. It actually was Nintendo's big seller before the NES.

I play my 3ds for portable gaming. I cant stand the endless shovelware on phones nowadays.
How the crap did the author come to these conclusions from that article? The little business diagram could mean a billion things. Why would Quality of Life automatically mean a new console? Non wearable technology could be anything in the next 10 years.

I wanna use the Rift as a TV/Monitor once in a while as well as a Game peripheral. I hope they have incorporated that tech into the Rift. It would be nice for teens or adults that are limited to a PC in the office or bedroom. Space is at a premium nowadays, so if they can multitask the rift, I think it may help the adoption rate.
Youre absolutely right about that Exie. But when you read the title out loud, it does sound crazy. Ive never beat any game without firing a shot. A deathmatch, yes, but a game, no.

Holy crap, I never even considered DX12 being tied to Windows 8. That would be a game-changer in my eyes. Mantle would take over for sure!
My projector only does 1080p, so thats right around where I am too.

Im willing to reserve judgement until DX12 drops at GDC. The Mantle definitely outperforms at low resolutions, but they really even out in the higher resolutions.

Next Gen is just a buzz word guy. It refers to graphics (for some stupid reason) rather than the actual generation of the unit.
Nobody talks about Wii U being next gen. Would the next Ouya be called Next Gen? Prolly not. Even though they are the newest generations of their console.
Now you know how pc gamers feel about the term being applied to consoles.
Oculus must just be going it alone. With all the Dev kits sold out, I can imagine they are already getting support from developers as it is. Valve is supporting the Rift in big ways as well. So are they worried about pooling ideas? Was there philosophical differences?
