Stop, and think about it.

I was eyeing up that HP Envy myself. It has a great CPU and I can put a better graphics card in it for $300. So for a cool G-note I can have a hell of a nice rig. BUT, it is far cheaper to build one myself. $700 with a sweet case and bluRay if I build myself.

PC gaming is like anything else in life. If you can afford better components, you usually get a better experience. A lamborgini and Honda Civic may do the same function, but lets face it, the Lambo will get you there faster and with style. Same goes with gaming. People are salty about the PC master-race, but hey, you get what you pay for.

I know right! Now that Ive been on Steam for a while, I get the shakes when I even think about paying full price for a game.

Its almost inevitable though. I dont know how they would keep the cost under $300. Even if Sony breaks even, would they be able to make it up in software sales for VR?

Still no target date? I was hoping the Morpheus would have jolted Oculus to start shedding some details.

Those videos are from 2012. The Rift has been in development a lot longer than that.
In fact, the Rift Dev kit has been out longer than that.

...And yet the price remains $60. Hmmmm.

True to my word...a helpful bubble. :)

I will personally add a bubble to anyone that can listen to that the whole way through. Gawd Almighty thats terrible!!

You dont need a monster PC to outdo the PS4, chief. And there are Millions of gamers on Steam alone. Rest assured, there are enough PC's out there to warrant the Rift.

Damn, your technical. I love it!

Its on 2 different platforms though. Unless the Morpheus can come over to PC, I dont think Carmack will worry about it too much. He has spent years on the Rift and he is obviously very confident in what it can and cant deliver.

They arent in direct competition though. So why would he downplay the Morpheus? Its like trying to sell an airplane at a car dealer.
Edit-dont let the title fool you. Carmack says PS4 is an impressive piece of kit in the interview.

Wow, Carmack brought up a good point about Frames per Second. 3D/Stereo viewing naturally halves the FPS. So a 60Fps game would now be a 30fps game.
Hopefully the PS4 can nail 1080p/60fps consistently for their VR to run decent.

Im not surprised Oculus turned down Sony's help. They seem to be mavericks of VR. Cant wait for the Rift reveal now.

Abriael,
Suicidal, or marketing genius? What if you could only get VR supported GT7? Boom, sales explosion. They can make it the Morpheus coming out party.
Im not saying it WILL happen, Im just sayin it could.

But now those games are tethered to the Morpheus. Hopefully Sony would develop the game with and without Morpheus support.

Yeah, Big Daddy's usually have bigger torsos.

That headgear in the pic has got to be a joke. She looks like a Big Daddy in that thing.
