In the long run, Xbox will make it up with monthly Xbox Live charges.
I have 3 crappy laptops with Steam and 2 gaming rigs. Even my laptops hit the survey even though I only use them for Gamestream. So its a skewed demographic at best.
I do miss the days of Hexen, Doom 2, Grand Theft Auto, but when I see how far Steam has come, how many games are in my library, and the potential of VR around the corner, it just feels to me as if we are right on the cusp of something great.
We are living in the Golden Age of PC. So many great ports (unfortunately also a lot of bad ones) and many more devs are willing to develop for PC first, now that they realize what a large community PC gaming is.
With VR around the corner, I can see PC gaming only getting better from here on out.
I really really enjoyed Rebel Strike as well. I mean, the interior combat wasnt the greatest, but the ships and scope of the battles were incredible for the time.
Definitely my favorite franchise on the GC.
If anything, those reasons and more are justification for a gaming PC.
Too bad. GFWL was hot garbage and I am in no rush to return to that horrible DRM. Steam is a great service with a dedicated user base. I can see Microsoft trying to keep the spoils to themselves, but it may cause fewer units being moved.
Every time I see one of these little diddies I cant help but think VR. Especially with the heavy exploration aspect.
*cough* PC *cough*
Raggy and BVFTW bring up some great points. Some view technical advantages as resolution, while others think of it as experiences or peripherals. Personally I was lured into the X1 with the kinect 2.0 because I thought it was the next best thing for consoles.
Others may view the Morpheus, or digital libraries, or faster FPS as the reason for an upgrade.
Good thoughts going around.
Then why even buy an X1? If it isnt a technical advantage over an older console, then there really isnt incentive to upgrade in my opinion.
If we dont expect better things out of developers, they simply wont deliver, knowing we will buy whatever they churn out anyways.
Mariokart 8 is easily the best Mariokart with the most content so far. Other than the useless coins it is damn near flawless.
Im hoping there will be some free DLC compensation for the PC brethren. Ridiculous how this all went down.
I sure wish they would reveal the PC release date.
Oculus already has the Battle of Endor space battle and it is incredible. Seeing your body in the Orange jumpsuit and R2 over shoulder is downright surreal.
Time to grow? Technically it hasnt even been birthed yet.
I could see him in an old-school beatem up like Final Fight or any of the other radical side scrollers from the 90's.
Well the Dk has low latency and resolution. The polished Vive/Oculus will have more than double the FPS and going from 720p to 1200p. The experience will be a lot more comfortable with the final versions.
Have faith my brother!
Off topic- have you tried virtual desktop? Thats the app I'll most likely use the most with VR. I love sizing and curving my virtual screen for gaming/3d movies.
What VR are you working with? DK2?
...Not sure if I should take you serious or not. I highly doubt the cost of maintenance is $60 annually for an online service for a single gamer.
