That's kind of my point, though, with home console, physical discs are just an option. And you can always buy old games, even from previous generations (either new or used copies) or borrow a game from a friend. Don't want physical? Just don't use it and buy games digitally.
With Stadia, you're forced into buying games digitally, only on their platform, whatever you like that or not. So, why less features = the future?

Also,...

So, serious question, why streaming-only is the future? Why gaming console with physical discs and streaming option is not the future?

Home console gives you all - playing locally, streaming, using discs, buying games, even watching movies. Streaming just gives you streaming games that you own on that service (so streaming and buying games only). Why future = getting less?

Here's the full quote:
«The audience for those big story-driven games…I won’t say it isn’t as large, but they’re not as consistent. You’ll have things like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Horizon Zero Dawn that’ll come out, and they’ll do really well, but they don’t have the same impact that they used to have because the big service-based games are capturing such a large amount of the audience. Sony’s first-party studios do a lot of these games, and they’re good a...

Why everything has to be a problem? Stop being so overdramatic. Unlocking trophies and/or achievements is not required to complete the game or to enjoy it. You can actually disable notification of trophies unlocking, so you wouldn't even know they're there. I mean, it's just an extra thing, it's not mandatory.

You can look at trophies and achievements like a check list, with what to do or what else is left. For instance, in Elex, - [spoiler alert] - i would ...

Sorry, i have a feeling that we have a fundamental misunderstanding. I do agree with you that they can control their private forums and private events. And if after the whole situation with «Free Hong Kong», they would just release a statement with explanation and maybe issue a warning to Blitzchung (not ban him outright and everyone around him, with taking his earnings away), that would go over so much better.

I have an issue with this «apology» speech ...

Let me quote J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard: «But our actions are gonna matter more than any of this words». So, what actions this PR talk led to? Did they unban the casters (who were not responsible for this whole situation, you know, it's their job to do post-game interviews)? No. Did they revert the rules that forbid expressing personal opinions during post-game interviews? No. Did they unban Blitzchung and/or the AU Hearthstone team? No. So that means, that his whole ...

While i see what you mean (and somewhat agree), i still don't understand why president of Blizzard lied, talking about the right to express themselves, when they (Blizzard) are taking this right away from people on their live broadcast? I mean, who cares if their live chat would have some chants and protests, aside from Blizzard? At first yes, there would be a lot of such messages and it might be annoying, but:
1) Blizzard did this to themselves. See, imo, if they didn't ban ...

Wait, that was an apology? All i heard was «I'm sorry you think you deserve an apology» and a ton of bragging and butt-licking of visitors with «high standart we set for ourselves», «we're so grateful to you», «we have people from 59 countries». And «everyone's rights to express themselves, in all kinds of ways, in all kinds of places», yet they disabled a comment section, that's just a cherry on top.

He even...

Let's assume that you're right. But Stadia, PS Now and XCloud - all of them use controllers (Stadia comes bundles with one). So you have this «controller lag» + connection lag + data caps + compression. And how is that any better than consoles or PC?

There isn't? As example - what about Warframe? Completely new warframes, prime variations, weapons (5 groups - primary, secondary, melee, archwing gun and archwing melee), companions, skins, decorations, balance changes, new and updated tilesets, on-foot, flying, underwater, space sections, boss battles, 2 open world maps with random events (and bosses) and completely free expansions, not to mention it has both single- and multiplayer content - PVP and PVE.

And what abo...

It doesn't, though. What's the point of this physical release then, just an empty game case? Either don't release it or release with all recent updates, so people wouldn't have to redownload everything.

Yes, i completely understand that not only platform holders have paid games with microtransactions, but they're also getting a certain percentage from every microtransaction sold. So in a way, they're in a symbiotic relationship with publishers, the more microtransactions are sold on their platforms, the more money both of them are getting.

I don't expect them to just do that, because they're so caring and kind (they are not, their prime directive is to earn...

Can't wait for «It's just options! It's for the players» excuses. I don't get why this «pay to not play the game» is even a thing. You pay $60 to buy the game and then you pay even more just to not play it, why buy the game then?

You know, i think, that Sony, Microsoft, Steam, Epic, GOG and other platform holders must outright ban any microtransactions for games that cost money. So no one would be able to sell then in Playstation Store, X...

Of course they'll say that, Blizzcon is soon, gotta sell them tickets. And let's be fair, mobile «gamers» do not care about Blizzard.

Greed. It's fine to make money making and selling games, what's not fine, though, is to try and take every single cent from your customers and then charge them even more.
