Pointless article but hell, I will bite. If Horizon is still going, has its own following, many follow up titles, and appearances in other games for Aloy, over the next 30 years.. Then to will be on par with Zelda. That's if Zelda isn't still going then too. Which would extend Horizons need for longevity even more just to be on par. Killing it in total sales for the series is going to take quite a long time.
The battery life is actually pretty good for a portable gaming device with its specs. I've heard otherwise but have never seen an example given of something better.
Curious to see if hard mode is more like NG+ with maybe different items available for the end game. That would make more sense than just a harder difficulty in the season pass. Everything else sounds fine. I'm kind of surprised there is a season pass for Zelda, but I guess I shouldn't be. Price isn't bad depending on the amount of content in the new dungeons, and whatever the new story turns out to be.
It is a tough sell at $50. But it's going to be a fun, easily learned coop game for the Switch, so that will help it. I would have waited for a sale if I didn't have Amazon Prime. It's 39.99 with Prime. Same price as a new 3ds game. Not too bad, IMO. Well worth it for the hours of entertainment it will provide my son and I.
Being new IPs with more money behind them doesn't make them more valuable to the consumer. How much entertainment they provide usually matters more, at least in my opinion. I'd bet most people who buy Bomberman will get more hours out of their purchase on average than someone who bought The Order or Quantum Break. Old versions mean nothing if they aren't on the new system.
I'd like to know their read/write speed. That is, if they can write. Hopefully there is allocated space for updates. Otherwise that 32gb will fill up super fast with just updates even if going with all physical games. Luckily sdxc cards are cheap..
If he has a contract with Playstation to make exclusives for them he won't make games for anyone else. He isn't going to break his contract.
It seems like it's not attached based off of what I have watched today. They lowered it down to ground level and had grass in the foreground using dof to blur the grass and have clear focus on Aloy.
edit: I believe it was the Kinda Funny let's play of Horizon that had the example of photo mode that I am referencing.
It has a nice photmode. Free floating camera, time of day slider, dof on/off/adjustment slider, etc. Lots of great looking photos will come from this game. The time of day slider is my favorite part. Every photo mode should have it if the game has a day/night cycle.
The battery on a ps4 controller wasn't really meant to be replaced either. People will source appropriate batteries, and replace them in the same way for the Switch. Unless they make it nearly impossible to open, unlike a ps4 controller. It's definitely not the best route to go. Having to send off your piece of gaming hardware sucks. Especially for something like replacing a battery.
Can't wait to see what he does with this freedom and a single platform. Should be good stuff.
At this point they have the most power console wise. They will continue to have plenty of exclusives. Cheapest entry point into VR for gaming. I'm sure their sales are steady enough that they aren't losing sleep at night.
I'm in the Alpha. Can't say much other than I hope this game gets finished as it has a ton of potential.
@Dixie your reading what I wrote in the wrong way. I say it's not enjoyable to everyone as in not everyone enjoys it more in vr due to the quality change. Me being a person, I make that true. Not that every single person doesn't enjoy it. Maybe calm down a bit and you might not get upset over nothing. I certainly didn't bring you into anything. I don't even know who you are.
I like that it's different. I wouldn't want another ps4 like box that just says Nintendo on it. Already have a pc and Ps4 for multiplats and such. I just want Nintendo to do what they do. So far I like what I'm seeing. Havent bought a Nintendo system since Nintendo 64 other than my 2ds. So I don't mind the ports.
No man. I have a Pro, and a VR. Re7 to go along with it. The visual quality is so bad that it's just not enjoyable to everyone. It's awesome none the less, in the sense that vr needs full games and it gives promise for the future, but far from a great experience. I can't stress enough, "in my opinion". You would be surprised how many people think differently than you do without being bitter, or a hater.
These things sell out so fast. Probably due to limited supply mostly. But people want them. I wouldn't even have a preorder if I had not have been awake at 4 am the day after the reveal. Reading a few posts on Facebook, then saw a friend talk about her preorder. Decided to look around, Gamestop had them. I must have looked at just the right time. They were out of stock again five minutes later. I haven't seen any available to order since.
And here I am just wanting the Switch for indies and Nintendo first party titles... To each their own. I'd rather get something like Stardew Valley for the Switch, than on my pc or ps4 for example. Indies are fantastic on the go titles. For decent battery life, and usually your not set into any hour long quests in them.
It should be expected but can't be these days, so people get really happy when they hear stuff like this. Definitely good news.
That is the only downside to PsVR IMO, that everything has to run on the og ps4 too. So far so good, but it could stop some things from getting on the system down the line.
