Hardware and the cloud are very different. They can guarantee hardware. It's as simple as making a deal with AMD to produce the product they are asking for, which is apparently already done. The can't guarantee developers will take up using something like the cloud for their games.
Last statement I heard from them was that they are only working on Cyberpunk now. I'd rather them put everything into their new game. It would be nice, sure. But I expect Cyberpunk will have different settings for the multiple consoles that will be around when it releases.
Nope, those phone calls and messages can be returned when I'm done. Gotta take time for yourself every once in a while. Thought it's a neat feature for those that need it. (some folks are on call for work, kids in school, etc)
It wasn't. I was going to ask the same. Where they got that info an all. Id like to see it happen though..
@Fries...the game doesn't have to "support downsampling". As long as a it's a higher resolution than the screen it's being played on..that is downsampling. Nothing special needs to happen on the devs side. If the game isn't 4k but let's say 1800p or whatever, when played on a 1080p screen, it's downsampled. No special process, just your screen needs to support the resolution. Downsampling is not only 4k to 1080p.
No, its just not a good game. It's not a hard conclusion to come to after playing it.
It was already enabled. I have my ps4 set to download and install my updates while in rest mode. Under those settings they are set to automatic unless you turn it off. I checked to see if it was on and it was. But it very well could be just my imgination. I noticed it right away when I turned my ps4 on without even realizing the update occured. So it's not like I was expecting changes. I do know the screen resets and the colors look a bit less, bright I guess, with hdr off. Though it'...
I don't think my tv has hdr. But man did I notice a difference in the color brightness(in a good way) as soon as the home screen popped up. So maybe that update on my tv did more than I thought. Figured it was just 2.0 not 2.0a. Will have to look up my tv to see, BUT for sure the colors look brighter. I really like the quick menu. Nice change.
edit: It was 2.0a, and apparently can do hdr now. Sweet! Even more excited for Pro now. 😃

It's a great console for the price. Hearing devs talk after the PS Meeting is what sold me on it. Playstations presentation was ok other than the one guy could put you to sleep the way he talks..but the devs talking about how they will use it got a pre order out of me. Plus I would like to take more advantage of my 4k tv.
So, for current ps4 owners like myself,I'd like to hear PS explain hdr on hdmi 1.4, and how it's possible on ps4 but nothing else. Also, hdr isn't going to mean shit if you don't have a 4k hdr tv, in which case you would want the pro anyway, I would think. As no 1080p sets currently support it.
IDK why you got downvoted. 1.4 can't do hdr according to every 4k tv review I've ever read. Plus there isn't a single 1080p tv with hdr. Not sure what this is actually going to mean for current ps4 owners.
For me, this is pretty decent. I'll get more use from my 4k tv, and better quality VR. Worth the price, plus whatever I get for my old one will help. Should have no problem getting $200 for the og ps4 w/ upgraded 1tb hard drive, and 1 controller.
It helped a lot. The April update really saved it for me. The loot system change makes it a more enjoyable game, IMO.
@Mrmonk your controller is fucked. lol You will notice it first on Bf4 with snipers, then it will be other games. For some reason Bf4 snipers are super touchy, and one slightly wrong thing with your R2, and your not using snipers in BF. I got a new controller for the same issue, as well as l3 not holding a sprint in any game. No more r2 issues in Bf, or l3 anywhere.
I've been enjoying it. Hit detection has been dead on in my experience. Elite classes are strong, but not op. No rubber banding, or lag in any shape or form. No invisible body shields left by killing someone. I don't have super fast internet, but it's been solid. Many issues BF4 had at launch, don't seem to be present here. I really hope it stays this way for launch. (minus the issue I had connecting to their servers earlier, which lasted like 5 minutes, but sounds like it c...
Honestly just take off the s. Make it singular. It just sounds weird when it says Apples, for a single flag. "Taking objective Apple" just sounds better, although a bit nit picky.
That's where mods come into play if you have the extra power. Game looks good but not good enough? Have 8 gigs of Vram, but only using 5 on that 1080? High end i7 laughing at your pathetic vanilla AAA title? Throw on some higher resolution textures, Better grass, water, clouds, hair, skin, eyes, custom menus, additional content like missions, items, improved lighting, shadows, you name it.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided for a very recent example, has some bad frame rate drops seemingly out of no where some times. This is on ps4. It certainly doesn't hold a steady 30fps. I say out of no where because you can just be walking through an area where it didn't happen, nothing has changed, no explosions, anything like that, it just drops.
I don't have the numbers, but I'd be willing to bet gamers put significantly more hours into multiplats than exclusives for either console. I'd agree that the console that will play the games you will play the most, at a higher framerate or image quality would be the better of the 2. Scorpio, with rumored specs is that console for most I would think. Plus with a chance at better VR with that power available. Maybe by the time Scorpio releases, Rift or Vive could have a price drop...
Same. Ps4pro preordered, need to see the NX and it's launch line up. Scorpio is just too far away to worry about though I am interested.
