as for number of players...it's based on style. 30 v 30 wouldn't be fun in gears. i'm not sure it would be fun in resistance either but it might be. i'll see when i buy it.
the article doesn't directly mention that resistance is 10 dollars more than gears. i'd say that should weigh in on the decision.

the gears trailer was much more original and creative. i'd even say it was better than gears 1's trailer which is what helped it sell so well in the beginning.

you picked the worst, most washed out video of gears 2 you could find. and it still looks way more fun than resistance. pick a good video and it blows it away. resistance is nothing but hype. and the first one was nothing more than a halo knockoff. resistance is undeserved hype while gears has more players online in a week even now than any game on ps3. it's easy to make blind statements like Resistance is way better than gears when you ignore all the facts.

this game will be a lot of fun on both systems. and honestly, neither version looks that great. gameplay will be making this game, not graphics. i'd say the ps3 has the SLIGHT edge in terms of graphics. but i mean...one version looks crappy when looking at details from far away and the other version looks just slightly less crappy.

i watched this video 3 times just to see the floating you're talking about. what i saw was a bunch of zombies RUNNING and when they get shot they stumble, get slowed down, catch on fire, etc... but no floating. i also noticed when one zombie gets shot by a buncha guys or by a powerful gun they get knocked back. it basically looks like you're playing Dawn of the Dead. i definitely think this looks like a great game to play with your friends. just gotta decide do i get this on pc or 360. ...
if these companies start to sacrifice real progress in favor of something gimmicky like the Wii, i'm out.

well when gears of war 2 has sold 6 million copies and killzone struggles to move 2 mil, keep talking. and the fact that you have so many bubbles is a testimony to how many ps3 fanboys plague N4G. and that includes the moderators.
STOP GIVING UNCHARTED UNDESERVED CREDIT!!! it's attitudes like that will hold back game development. Uncharted belongs on ps2 or xbox. 4 whole characters models. same boring, repetitive gameplay. lame graphics and presentation. explosions are a joke in the game. environment interaction is non existent sept with the uninspired "platformer" elements which are predictable and hardly a puzzle.
i had to choke that game down just to get through it. so lame.
