Bloodborne has minor issues but to call it a mess is way too far.
To me, a mess implies a game that you don't want to play.

Dying more than 20 times on any boss is a tad much.
I think some people get impatient after dying, which leads to sloppy play and more dying.
The game demands that you pace properly. That's why to label it hack N slash is a misnomer. Its so far from press X to win. Its in another galaxy from hack N slash.

I ask because if you have killed at least 6 bosses, joined a covenant and played PvP, you wouldn't be saying that.

Just have multiple of that item and when you use it the game will ask if you want to use multiple.

Check this out. Last night I was fighting a hard boss and I was out of vials and low on HP and right before I died I got a "someone rated your message 'fine', my health went up and I kicked his ass!
That right there was definitely the most insane, exhilarating moment I have ever had in 35 years of gaming. Honestly. You couldn't have scripted the timing any better. It was one in a million.

This game is the most fun I've had gaming in a long time.
Just rank up. Its not that hard. Its a challenge yes, but you have to walk that off and step your game up.
If you cannot find them, simply quit to title screen, continue then go to the scholar building and they'll be on the floor. I discovered this accidentally and thought it was an error, but I have tested it and it is always there if you quit game then go to Library.

As much as I love these games, I had one of the greatest gaming experiences ever playing Heavy Rain.
Sometimes you just have to try different things and you'll be surprised.
Play with headphones on in the dark.
Its so badass. Faint screaming and moaning that you don't hear too well through tv, but with headphones on the audio becomes so alive and frightening.

I often thought that had I never played the three games prior to this, I would be getting my ass kicked so much worse. There are a lot of little things borrowed from the previous games which knowing beforehand is paramount to trodding ahead.
It will probably save you around 50 deaths if you've played the others. If not, yeah you'll love it, but you're going to take it in the pail for a solid 20 hrs.
Reboot your ps4 and the multiplayer should work ok.
I quit trying to play pvp or coop after Rest Mode.

On one hand it scares the crap out of me because you fear the 'dumbing down' of the game for everyone, but then again think of the wondrous game world that could be created from these guys with twice the budget? Expand their team, keep all planning and gameplay within the same team and the next game could be like revolutionary.
Its tough to know. You just hope that the game remains difficult and similar to how they are now.
