Typical consumers cannot afford SONY electronics. They're some of the best. From televisions to headphones. You get what you pay for, and SONY products are pricey. This is no secret.

This simply is not true. While the Xbox did sell out and get resupplied over the last 2 weeks, it DID NOT sell out at first 24 hours.
PS4 Sold over a million in first 24 hours and was gone. Xbox did not do that. While both are flying off shelves, the demand for PS4 is simply unprecedented in console sales. Some have come close, but current PS is breaking every record there is.
At this rate the PS4 is sure to catch the One. There's a lot of units to sell to catch the fastest seller of all time.

An earlier launch only comes into play when you can meet the demand. Otherwise, it will sell the same amount, or all of their stock.
