I upgraded 2 years of xbox live 2 years ago, and now I bought 3 years of xbox live and upgraded again. That's a 5 year window where I'm GUARANTEED ridiculous value. If they introduce some predatory policies after that I'm free to opt out, but it doesn't change what I'm getting in the next 3 years.
Lol you're not spending any extra money unless you don't know basic math. It's a $1 upgrade on up to 3 years of xbox live. One year of gamepass is essentially the cost of one game. If you were planning on purchasing just 3 gamepass games in the next 3 years you have already covered the cost, and now have access to a hundred other games. Don't remember Gears 5, Forza Horizon 3, Ori being mediocre, and you conveniently left out a dozen stellar titles that aren't day 1 and up...

It's time we start considering VALUE as an exclusive. Each console provides certain value and certain games that are both exclusive to itself. If you like the most games for the least cost then out of all the consoles this is the best.

You make a good point and it certainly makes sense for a developer to have a default difficulty that matches the design. However, it is really quite easy to inform the player and provide options in a way that doesn't impact the design or the starting experience for anyone else. Exactly what you said about assist mode is what I'm talking about.

Yes that I agree with, I wouldn't say they have to have an easy mode but players can certainly let developers know their feedback nothing wrong with that. What's stupid is other players enforcing it.
You can also accept a game is too hard for you by switching to easy mode. You shouldn't be restricted from enjoying a game just because it doesn't have options, that defeats the purpose of games. Some people also naturally enjoy certain gameplay more so they are willing to play higher difficulties on those games.
