Did you actually read the article though? E3 is not just about the game reveals, it's an actual physical show with people in attendance. The author does give legitimate reasons and also acknowledges that Sony had better games to show.
I think what people are alluding to is the E3 presentation and format, not the exclusives and how they look per se. What you're saying is a different thing, everyone knows PS4 has more games and they all look amazing. I'm not going to make an argument one way or another, but i know a lot of people weren't satisfied with the way Sony presented at E3.

I think if it's open world it might be like mass effect, where it's not a seamless world but you have massive locations that are separate form each other. This would be good for diversity, I'd love to travel from Halo rings to Earth to Sanghelios to Requiem. Imagine being able to re-visit Reach in its post-glassing stage.
But you could say that about any type of game they were making. Just find a similar game and say it looks like that game. Not sure what you were expecting?

loll as if first person automatically makes it a flop. First of all it's supposed to have a 3rd person mode, maybe it'll be added later. Second of all, Deus Ex is first person and it's great.
I had a hard time take Destiny's story seriously, the first one barely had any and the second was pretty cheesy and mediocre. The universe is super interesting, but their "light vs dark" dynamic is so nerdy it makes me cringe a little.

Doesn't even matter. They already chose FPS by design. You can't just switch an FPS focused game to TPS, mainly because of cover mechanics.
