Ladies and gentlemen, Halo 5 already has Battle Royale and hundreds of other game modes.
God of War and RDR2 will definitely be top 2 contenders.
It would be kind of redundant anyway. Halo is so customizable you can make a BR mode on your own. Hell it already exists in Halo 5's custom games browser.
Forge and custom games are big and underrated part of Halo, and I'm sure Halo Infinite will have so many more tools that creating battle royale would be easy as shit.

You don't wanna open that can of worms. Anyone can take any good FPS game and say the exact same thing the other way around. All major competitive multiplayer shooter games are FPS. You should play Halo.
I love both FPS and TPS games, but saying one genre "curbstomps" the other is so ignorant.

Eh that's precisely my point. For games like GTA it's a gimmick, it's designed to be played in third person, first person mode is wonky and just there as a fun feature.

I don't get the "should be" argument anyway. It's a design choice, they chose to do it in first person for a reason and have been building the game up with that design choice. Saying it SHOULD BE third person means nothing because they can't just change it on the fly.
I don't think being close to other RPG's would have any effect on it though, it wouldn't have been any more critically acclaimed if it released at any other time in the year. It's not like people forget about other RPGs a month after their release.
Only thing that could have hurt are sales which actually weren't that bad.
