The only problem with that is that if theres a game with mostly multiplayer trophies, the platinum will be devalued and will be unfair on those who earned it properly before the servers shut down.
I hope they overhaul the trophy system to prevent trophies appearing as not earned if it is no longer possible to earn them.
Maybe its right that you don't get the platinum, but its wrong that it stops you from getting 100%.

Why would anyone be 'thankful' about something they're paying for? Excited? Maybe. Delighted? Maybe. Thankful? No.

The same excuse could be used to remove age restrictions on all forms of gambling.
