I know what you mean.
Unfortunately for me it got to the point where I was addicted to chasing 100% completion so I couldn't stop playing games even if I didn't really like them. They moved lower down the priority but they were still always at the back of my head.
I waited so long for Sony to bring in a feature to let me delete trophies, at least then I could try new games knowing that I can back out if I didn't enjoy them. In a way its good they didn't, its ...
I was addicted and the only way I could get out of it was abandoning my account and starting a new one.
It made me calculate the waste of life on collecting trophies on games I otherwise wouldn't have touched with a barge pole, but there was still a sigh of relief knowing that if I had taken this step 1, 2, 3 or 10 years down the line, it could have been far far worse.
Now I'm back to how I originally started gaming - enjoying a small handful of games a year, and mov...
Because it worked so well for the switch.
Nah, I made a vow not to support games that take the piss on launch and then try and redeem themselves with update after update.
I really hope they announce the next Gran Turismo game with a depth of single player content.
I agree.
Every time I see an Amazon customer moan about why the government cant afford to fund something, I remind them its because they helped Amazon dodge billions in corporate tax, which another company would have paid it if they got the business.
So if you were penalized for doing something within the law because someone had a grudge against you, that's ok? Because that is basically what is happening here.
The CEO hasn't robbed a bank to get his millions. He applied for a job, and he is being given the amount of money the company agreed with him when he signed the contract. They cant swindle him now because of an angry mob on N4G.
If it's not illegal, it's fair.
If you don't like it, vote with your wallet.
If the company still manages to entice you into giving it money, then it means they've earned it.
After that point, it is up to the owners and shareholders of the company on who should be paid how much, not anyone else.
While I agree with it as a supporter of democracy and capitalism, I still hate it as a gamer. He's the guy that sends the orders to ma...
Sadly this is how politics works in the UK because they are all too politically correct to tell addicts they need to change their habits. As a result everyone pays the price.
Happened with the obesity crisis as well. They're too scared to tell fat people to start exercising and change their diet, so now the entire UK has to pay more for products with sugar in them, and cant get 2 for 1 deals on junk food, even if you're a healthy person that wants a treat once in a ...
Its a disaster whichever way you look at it.
Anything obtainable from a loot box should be obtainable directly by performing a task or completing an objective. There are only two reasons to add the gambling factor:
1) Make money by selling what are effectively lottery tickets.
2) Get away from a system that only gives the best performing players the best rewards because otherwise every person that isn't good enough to earn the reward will thr...
You're shocked that people buy games that entertain them?
Their best chance is to make a more powerful console at a cheaper price than sony, make online play free, continue backwards compatibility, take a stronger stance and make an example of foul mouthed gamers who create a toxic environment, and use #reallyforthegamer
The fact is most gamers play mainstream games and the vast majority are multiplatform. Exclusives can win a generation, but a generation can also be won without any exclusives.
"Oh cool Red Dead Redemption is coming out tomorrow, I'll wait 10 years and play it when it has better textures, frame-rate, resolution" - said no-one ever.
You would have half a point but you're talking as if the emulator that is capable of "higher framerates and resolutions, texture replacers" is already here. It's not, and if the devs get bored and decide there are better things to do in life, it never will.
That is what people said when backwards compatibility got taken away and they made ps+ compulsory for online play.
The community is so bad that the video game companies know that video gamers are the easiest type of consumer to roll over, and still they will end up being defended by... video game fans.
Lets be real.
Sony (and others) took away backwards compatibility, people still buy it, the corporations get defended by fans.
Sony (and others) charge for online play, people still buy it, the corporations get defended by fans.
This will be no different the day it happens.
I played fifa after a couple of months off and I actually like the changes to the gameplay.
Passing isnt over-powered. Closing down players with the ball actually matters and it will affect the quality of their pass, just like in real life. The player in possession of the ball actually has to use their brain now.
What disappointing is that they havent gone far enough. Players with shit build-up play are still rewarded. When they shoot from long distance, the chance...
I have no sympathy for people who who think devs are taking the piss but then continue to buy their games over and over and over again. You deserve it. Buying the game doesn't entitle you to an update which changes it to the way you want it.
"now I couldn't be happier. Heres what I do"
Post shit on N4G?
Since I got an X1 I play it more than the PS4. Theres more games I like from games with gold and EA access.
The PS+ offerings dont appeal to me anymore to the extent that I've stopped bothering to add them to my account incase I want to play them in the future.
Imo, X1 the best value games console at the moment.
I'll still buy the odd PS exclusive that comes out and a game that performs a lot better on the PS4, but Sony have no where near as many n...
Yeah because how else are they going to show off graphics that don't exist in multiplayer mode?
