The difference between a game that people play for a few months and a game that people play for years is the core gameplay.
Developers think they can extend it by adding loads of unnecessary objectives, but all it does is take away peoples sense of completion and turns it into a chore instead.
I said it on the article about the embargo as well. Telling reviewers to wait until a day before release just means random people will get all the attention for their reviews and gameplays using copies that were sold before the launch date. It was a stupid thing for Rockstar to do.
@ JEECE
Size required for download + install will always be greater than size required for install of disc. Its a basic fact.
Last week I had enough space for a game on my HDD but wouldn't let me download until I deleted another game because It needs to hold a large chunk of the download files and installation files simultaneously.
After a long day at work, the last thing I want to do is spend the rest of the day grinding xp to unlock something in a game I already paid £50 for.
lol. You have to bookmark it because you know its not true for all games, which is why when you tell that to a person who buys physical media to save space, they will doubt you play a lot of games.
I can understand why both parties would sign a legally binding contract if it meant they could get the game early and put their review out early. But just 1 day? Not worth it.
The way it will pan out is with random youtubers and second-rate websites flooding their impressions on the internet days before the embargo because some copies got leaked early like they always do before a big launch.
So apart from a pay off or any sort of 'deal', which an impartial reviewer shouldn't be involved in anyway, what's stopping them from breaking the embargo?
I dont get it, R* have such a good game on their hands, why do they need to get involved in this shady shit? The consumers are still going to get gameplay and reviews from people who somehow managed to get their copy early.
At this rate, you're probably never going to get to play it either lol.
That also happens to be the reason why its a scam.
They are selling you what will be average graphics in 10 years time, but taking your money today. The alpha build only looks advanced compared to the present day standard. When it finally comes out, it will be average.
You hate on consoles but the truth is that if any AAA developer spent as much time on their PS5 or Xbox Two game a...
With EA, you never know.
Easily COD4. The game that every other game wanted to be for many years. Shame it's the other way around now.
By that logic you might as well not play any console exclusive from this gen since one day it will possibly be playable in native 4k, 144hz.
Yeah its a fact that the higher the res and frame rate the better, but waiting for all these years while the graphics themselves start to become outdated seems like one step forward, two steps back.
To be precise, its 3753 days since his first trophy on 2nd Jul 2008, and as of now he has 1719 platinums which makes it one every 2.18 days on average.
That's believable I guess.
In before 'I personally wont use this feature so the people demanding it must be playing the "blame game" and I'm personally offended since I own Sony and speak on their behalf'
Ahh damn, actually I'm too late.
Here.
I buy Sony consoles because that's what I started gaming with and I'm used to the controller. For the first time this gen I bought an X1 as well as a PS4, and the X1 got sold because I realised that 95% of the time I play games which are multi-platform and it doesn't make sense to be paying for 2 subscriptions and having to decide every time a game which platform to get it on.
I'm enjoying spider-man right now but this year most my time has go...
PS4 pro was only a thing because 4k tv's became mainstream. I cant see anything over 4k tv's being popular until PS6.
"but we should not be willing to overlook their flaws and mindlessly defend them"
hahahaha. lets see if the usual suspects here on N4G take note. I'm betting no.
Fanboys with blind loyalty are the reason why anti-consumer policies are growing quicker in gaming than any other industry I can think of. Not only do they screw things up for themselves, but also get involved in debates about features which they apparently arent interested in, and enjoy scre...
I don't buy digital games. I lost my entire PS+ collection but will never have the time to play them all. Most were ps3 games and I got rid of the PS3. I finished all the games I wanted to before I started a new account, so I didnt have to worry about game saves.
Too late for me. I made a new one and sacrificed ~90 platinum trophies.
On the plus side I'm not addicted to trophies anymore so its all good.
Like complaining about people who complain to get a useful feature added.
Dont worry, you'd have to be good for that to happen. =D
