Like I said, I can almost guarantee that it will go service based.

I can see Xbox turning into a gaming service the way it's going. They've already done something similar with PC, and are still trying to get other platforms to make Xbox accounts through cross-play.
If Xbox Ome X doesn't meet the hyped standards that MS has been pushing, I can almost guarantee that this will happen. It's really the only way they make profit, according to that article from a week or two ago.

What do people expect? It was all scripted. MS has had to do the same before with big names 3rd party games like Destiny and Call of duty gameplay. I doubt it has anything to do with either company. It's nothing new to the industry.

With the yearly COD, now assasins creed, battlefront, etc., there is absolutely no need to push an exclusive game to the holidays.
That's the reason Sony have been so successful while the competition continues to slow in growth (aside from the switch).
