Roadmap it all you want, but the fanbase actually needs to support them the way they support Halo, Gears and Forza. The devs go through a lot, only for the game to be mentioned in “Xbox’s most diverse super duper line up of all time”, but not actually supported.
Thus leading to less Japanese games on Xbox.

You do realize that it takes consoles about a year to be fully phased out, right? With the rate they were selling lately because of COVID, probably longer.
As an advisor I think it’s something he’s able to do independently. I work with a lot of advisors who hold their own roles at their own or other large organizations.
Just my guess though.

It’s going to be more of the same marketing tactics they did with the X1X. They’d show gameplay of the X1X version and tout having the most powerful console for almost 2 years before it launched. All while their player base was on X1 hardware playing AAA games at 720p in the middle of this gen.

They have a partnership with MS, all button prompts are Xbox button prompts, they wouldn’t show Xbox One footage for a game they want to market the best they can.
No way they can upgrade the visuals between now and the end of the year. Wouldn’t be surprised if it gets delayed.

Why wouldn’t it be next gen gameplay? I highly doubt they’d market the worst performing version of Xbox (which will probably be the Xbox One version).

They definitely do. They’ve been on shaky ground with their last presentation and announcing more “exclusive” marketing rights.
Unfortunately those exclusive marketing rights are to games that look like they’re going to flop hard. A perfect example is Assassins Creed Valhalla... yikes! I don’t think anyone wants to be associated with that based on the poor gameplay mechanics we’ve seen.
My issue is the people that dislike that specific parts of the story (to avoid spoilers I won’t say anything) and give the overall experience negative reviews. It’s like saying, I don’t like this specific thing of the interior in this car. Therefore the car sucks and deserves horrid reviews.. and who cares what the vast majority of people say.
This sounds like the same old nonsense we heard from this gen with MS. “Best lineup ever”, “Biggest event with 50+ Exclusives”.
Honestly some of the most misleading stuff. Especially that E3 where it ended up being mostly indies that weren’t supported by the fanbase at all. Super unfortunate.

You could drive a Ferrari, but if the roads you drive them on suck then the whole experience sucks. The “trailers” they’ll show in July won’t tell the whole story either. MS has a long history of hyping up nonsense for it to fall flat.
All of a sudden for some having a weaker console than the Series X is good when it’s been all “doom and gloom” talk by those people for PlayStation? Lmao... okay.
I don’t see MS jumping into gaming VR successfully. They’re struggling on multiple fronts with just getting general in-house game development off the ground, Mixer was just abandoned, and they just announced today that they’re closing all MS stores. VR is probably the last thing on their mind.
As it is, their AR platform has seen little uptake to the general public or to the private sector.
I get opinions and all, but I’d say this is a flawed assessment.
The delivery was spot on. You can’t explain a “why” to an action like Abby’s without giving equal time to her. It’s literally set as an argument for “who’s revenge is deeper rooted”. The equal balancing of time gives the player the ability to make the decision of “which character was in the right to seek revenge?”. The story, as many seem to miss, is about how revenge manifests and grows like a virus. Joel’s ...

It would have been way cheaper to just buy out people with sign on bonuses. The partnership with Facebook was probably expensive and will further tarnish their branding in the streaming space. Especially with so many companies boycotting Facebook right now.
And the likelihood of Facebook being integrated into the XSX at some point is super high now. Not sure anyone would want that.
MS can’t catch a break this gen when it comes to partnerships.
