I just don’t get why they chose to show “old” footage from a PC, and said it took a monumental effort to get it even presentable.
MS has been pushing this “best in class” message for graphics for more than a year now. And this is what they showed? Gameplay was all Halo DNA, but the visuals looked like an Xbox 360 game.
I don’t think people understand that this damage control only caters to a small minority of people that play video games.
The average consumer looks at YouTube, sees a poor performing and looking game while Xbox says its part of the best lineup of games they’ll offer. They’re turned off. Plain and simple. The memes are only making it worse!

I don’t know how MS can tout the XSX as a powerful console and then the fanbase being okay with them showing an “old build” like that at that big of an event.
This event is literally a marketing disaster on Aaron Greenberg’s part. I get Phil’s “confidence” on games I guess. The show had excellent pacing of showing from indie to AA to AAA.
But Aaron hyped this up so much beyond what most marketing leads would. Especially after saying “we’ll learn” and “be better” after their last show was all CGI trailers.

You do realize the gap in power between the Xbox One and XSX is huge right? I feel like people purposely ignore that and act like the majority of the Xbox playerbase isn’t on Xbox One S or older hardware.
I think it’s something like 35 million out of the 50 million Xbox’s sold. Of course people are concerned that they’d be holding back for games to even be playable on that hardware.
Why are they relying on the Apple ecosystem? It didn’t matter up until now. They should just use their Windows Phone platform.
