camera seems different? maybe its just me, but things look smaller than they do in my game.
I wouldn't mind if the PC version was almost totally different, beyond graphics and physics, but with the feel of the guns and such. It would make buying it on multiple platforms enticing.

Fun is not a bullet point, its completely and utterly subjective.

but before the raging, actually think about what average means. It allows for people to find it unimpressive, while others find it utterly engrossing. If a game gets 6-7/10, without technical problems cited for the score, then chances are a lot of people are going to love the game.
Anything can be shit if done wrong, anything can be amazing if done right. The only limiting factor is the developer, not the genre, and this goes for EVERYTHING, including movies, music, art. There is always room for improvement and complete re-invention. To not see this potential in games/media/art is to be closed minded. A new idea can come with the shape and initial impression of an old one, until you get to know it better.

It is console games that have brought on the lack of difficulty in general, if there is a dumbed down game on the PC it's probably a port.

It could have given more advice, but obviously this article isn't for people who already know what they are doing.
