As long as you realize that v-sync and triple buffering add INPUT DELAY to the game.
IMO v-sync isn't worth it for input heavy games. Tvs and consoles already add up to significant delay, then you factor in ping...

you have no clue what you're talking about. theres tournaments in even the smallest cities pretty much non-stop. without the the tourney scene fighting games will die. maybe you should actually go to one before talking.
because a large playerbase wont have access to them in a training mode to practice counters. they'll probably harp on that and make him imba for the hell of it.

If the game is going to be fun as a difficult game, it needs to be designed as a difficult game from the start, and base the easier modes around that.
You can't just ramp up the enemies damage and call it a day, you need to have game balance getting progressively more complex.
EX: Ninja Gaiden. You may take a lot of damage easily, but you have blocks, parries, rolls, etc. As time goes on the player has to find...
