I love these types of games but I hate what happens to them:

Co-op is enticing, however, since it doesn't require lots of people, hopefully it actually cause the competitive modes to draw more people

well then theres the idea of modifying it for different weapons that obviously cater to different styles. I'm really not for black-and-white balancing that applies one effect across the board regardless of how it impacts play style.
For instance, the multipler could stay the same on smgs, but for guns like the FAL/M14(even the AUG w/scope) would be bumped up.
Or maybe even nerf limb damage even more on smgs as well.

There seems to be a desire for small scale tactical shooters, and that gets shoehorned into COD which we all know isn't one.
I do think they should bump up the headshot multiplier a bit...It's 1.4 right now I believe? It could be 1.6 or 1.7 I think and it wouldn't be game-breaking when people spray

You can play 30 minute timed demos for free right now on your computer, and they will run no matter how crap your graphics card is.

its not like they would have to actually directly make it inferior either, they could port it directly without off-loading anything on the cell and claim they maxed it out...
If pc games want to be on top again the hardware cost has to come down.
if someone buys a cpu and gpu (and not the full PC) that are similar in power to an xbox360, and it comes out to the same price as a new xbox360 or ps3, something is terribly wrong.
then factor in that lots of people use laptops for their computers now...

fixed spawns work on big maps
small maps...well there's more issues than just spawning with them.
I'd rather have fixed spawns and the occasional spawn camper. At least then you can call him out to the team, or place C4 where you know the bastards will try to get behind the spawns.
